It seems that .tel domain owners rather redirect their .tel to their main page instead of developing an unique service with it:

    http://loopia.tel
    http://mazamitla.tel
    http://siplast.tel

A good marketing use of a 1$ a month .Tel domain - marketing spend doesn't come much cheaper that this - if your main site isn't as snappy and easy to remember as KEYWORD.tel or PRODUCT.tel etc.

Try to purchase on the resale market an original KEYWORD.com or PRODUCT.COM etc and you may pay 1,000 or even 10,000 times as much as a 12$ a year .Tel domain !

Yet another use of the FLEXIBLE .TEL - including of course the option of FREE TELHOSTING - which marked the renaissance of the .TEL gTLD on 13 March 2017 !

    Get yours now DO.TEL !

@FrsnkW - Funnily enough I am also doing a REVERSE REDIRECT on 2 of my DotCom domains to their equivalent DotTel domains.

    Try clicking http://www.Domains123.com and http://MikeSeaton.com

The reason for this is that the modern-looking .TEL Telnames template we now have - which AUTOMATICALLY ADJUSTS FOR ALL DESKTOP/LAPTOP/TABLET/PHONE SCREENS - is more use to me at the moment than a .COM domain where I don't currently have the time to write such auto-adjusting software !

I have 3 "sets" (a set being a short URL and a long URL tel" but only one set I will mention here, I use with bit.ly

short domain fur.tel used as a url shortener that posts on social media via bit.ly, top level redirects to furry.tel.

Wordpress has a plugin that auto-generates the short URLs from your bit.ly custom domain, all it needs is a key from bit.ly and it works out the bag.

Thus you can have a nice short tel url on twitter etc and if anyone goes to the top of the short url they see the full contact info on the nice new hosting, but if they click on the short links they go to your website pages or posts.

That set of mine is not fully updated but it's on bit.ly etc. but I have two other sets that are better and completely integrated, one is for a client.

Another example would be dog.tel top level being dogs.tel, I'm sure you can come up with better combos boat.tel and boats.tel ? or markseaton.tel and seaton.tel.

Can also fill out your profile in the new tel hosting, and save the page then put it on a subdomain on your own hosting I've noticed mike2 has saved the old template and is rolling out on his sites.

I also noticed most keywords I put in and add tel are just blank tel sites.

yeah so owning combo domains are a good investment? or at least useful.

FYI bit.ly is free with custom domain, but if you want to pay for custom /something you have to contact them or else its /random

I traded for faith.tel a few days ago, and decided to make it my primary web site with content up now. I forwarded most of my previous domains in various extensions, including .COM, to the new faith.tel site.

So far Google has indexed it, and is providing search engine traffic to the .Tel domain already according to the website stats.

I believe that we will see more people using their prime keyword .Tel domains for their primary sites, and begin to forward their longer name domains in other extensions (including .COM) to their new .Tel domain websites.

Opening up .TEL to host anywhere you want, is the best decision that Telnic has made in recent memory. I am sure it is providing them with many new domain registrations as well.

I agree with you Mike. $12 a year seems like a small investment to get a free Telhosting website, or a quality domain pointed to your own web site on a web hosting service. I have used .Tel domain for years for building SEO links to get more visitors to come to my main websites. Now the .Tel domains can be the main websites, and have other domains linking to them!

its a amazing reality that most who started this long .tel journey are still with .Tel.
I think its best just to hold 10 good names only with .TEL
renewals and holding .tel is just to long term.
maybe if we see some sales on sedo thing will change but for now .tel is only good for feeder sites now with so many endings ngtld
but there no excuse to have a blank .tel anything better then nothing.
the only real worry I have is .tel will raise the price to what it was before I think £14.99 for new .tel one page site

I agree. I hold only a small number of .TEL domains that are either my name or keywords. Concerning .tel raising price, I usually always prepay for 10 years registration when I acquire a super premium .TEL domain that I know I will develop for use. That way I am covered in case there is a price increase. That way no price surprises. It amazes me what some of these newer gTLD registries charge high $,$$$ to renew PER YEAR for their premium domains in their extensions.
