I have 3 "sets" (a set being a short URL and a long URL tel" but only one set I will mention here, I use with bit.ly
short domain fur.tel used as a url shortener that posts on social media via bit.ly, top level redirects to furry.tel.
Wordpress has a plugin that auto-generates the short URLs from your bit.ly custom domain, all it needs is a key from bit.ly and it works out the bag.
Thus you can have a nice short tel url on twitter etc and if anyone goes to the top of the short url they see the full contact info on the nice new hosting, but if they click on the short links they go to your website pages or posts.
That set of mine is not fully updated but it's on bit.ly etc. but I have two other sets that are better and completely integrated, one is for a client.
Another example would be dog.tel top level being dogs.tel, I'm sure you can come up with better combos boat.tel and boats.tel ? or markseaton.tel and seaton.tel.
Can also fill out your profile in the new tel hosting, and save the page then put it on a subdomain on your own hosting I've noticed mike2 has saved the old template and is rolling out on his sites.
I also noticed most keywords I put in and add tel are just blank tel sites.
yeah so owning combo domains are a good investment? or at least useful.
FYI bit.ly is free with custom domain, but if you want to pay for custom /something you have to contact them or else its /random
