New premium .tel domains

Just curious... being in a forum of domainers.

Do you think new premium domains, available from June 21, will improve .tel's fortunes?

Are you considering of registering new premium .tel domains?

Since I'm not a domainer, I'm not interested in buying new domains, but I would like if this extension rises a bit.

I don't expect that offering previously dropped .tel domains as premium domains will be noticed at all.
Not many people will buy these.

@Artaban - Totally agree - Telnic/Telnames need to MARKET NEW .TEL that was launched on 13 March 2017

Anyone using in recent months the very popular domain stat link at http://registrarstats.com/TLDDomainCounts.aspx would think that .TEL Registrations had now stopped completely !

The basic problem appears to be that Telnic/Telnames has virtually no technical staff left for development/support, no marketing staff to spread the word, and the money now left from the $35,000,000 shareholder investment is probably just about enough to cover tea and biscuits only !

That's not the plan.
Please keep in mind that Telnic / Telnames has a very clear strategy as it was always clear since .tel was launched:
1. Collecting money
2. Doing nothing
3. Waiting as long as possible

So where are the "premium" domains that Telnames released on the 21st of June listed?

I know the story of alb.tel

A Serbian citizen had the domain. Dropped in 2012, was registered by me. Dropped in 2014. From there never registered again.

For three years nobody wanted it for 10-15$. Will someone register it now just because the price has increased to more than 600$?

Lingerie is a billion dollar business. Any big lingerie company can spend $$$$$ for a better domain name. I ask only $2500 for lingerie dot tel, where the buyer can sell lingerie for millions of dollars...


I believe .tel registry is working hard with their available resources to make .tel a success. We can see big increase in registrations after registrars godaddy, uniregistry, west.cn, ...start .tel operation.


FYI, I registered 100s of .tel domains this year and waiting for good days.

Less than $3,000 for the keyword domain 'lingerie' is a bargain, indeed.

I agree - an absolute bargain !

Because many potential domain buyers may not be aware of the "liberalisation" of the .TEL gTLD, I am adding the following information to my Sedo .TEL sales pages:

From 13 March 2017 you have been able to set the .TEL Nameservers at your Registrar to any value you choose, meaning your .TEL domain will operate identically to .COM, .NET, etc.

The only difference with the easily-remembered .TEL extension is that currently it is substantially cheaper to buy than the equivalent .COM, .NET, etc.

Any forum member is welcome to copy the above to their .TEL sales page if they wish.

All three letter Domains were blocked by telnic and can no longer registered. Now this Domains have premium Status.

Surely it's a glitch, but internet.bs and Ovh, and perhaps other registrars, still have the normal registration price.

Now we could guess that great number of those still "present" 100 000 TELs of the registry come from those reserved by Telnic/Telnames Ltd.

3-letter combinations alone bring 26x26x26 = 17576 total registered and still unregistered (reserved by Telnames) TELs.

As one movie hero was used to say: "lt is only sleight of hands and no fraud".

It looks like Name.com is now classifying all XXXX.TEL domains as "Premium" with Registration/Renewal prices of $25.00/$11.25 instead of $10.99/$10.99 (all + VAT if buyer is based in Europe).

As the .COM equivalent of the XXXX.TEL that I purchased today sold a few months ago for $500,000 I can live with that, now that .TEL has been "liberalised" so it is able to work in exactly the same way as COM etc !

What is the purpose and purpose of putting xxx and xxxx domains in the premium status and raising the prices. Tel Domains are now not so popular to do so. There will be changes to justify this. Otherwise, I think the registrations will go back

ligerie > underwear in French
intimo > underwear in Italian

About 32.000.000 results in Google

Already taken in all the major extensions and premium in others.

intimo.tel is unregistered.
