A new web app from TELcp Empty A new web app from TELcp

Post by Alex 2012-05-19, 7:36 pm

    Original post from TELcp.com:
A new web application (yet to be named) to manage your own tel domain(s) will be available by middle of June.

It is based on our experience with TELcp (during the past 2 1/2 yrs) where tel domain owners, who do not want to host their own app, can lease/rent sub domains to others and manage their own tel domains/folders.

But, the new application which is customizable (html only), not fully open source though, will have to be hosted on your own server. So it is all yours.
It will be a simple app to allow third parties to manage their own folder(s), just like the present TELcp.

It will be moderately priced. With renewable annual subscription for support & updates. It will have its own forum.

Interested parties may start designing your tel domains something similar to mytown.tel where all sub domains are created in the root and are hidden.

In short, you will be able to use this application as long as you have all your sub domains (folders) created in the root.

There will not be any beta OR release candidate (RC) as this type of app has been testes over the last 2 1/2 years.
It is the same application we will be using to manage hundreds of our own tel domains also beginning in mid June.

    Additional information from TELcp.com:
Well, for the time being stick to the directory structure similar to what we tried to explain from time to time on this forum referring to mytown.tel. Folders should be built in the ROOT directory as hidden folders. Create separate CTH accounts for each tel domain.

We are not going elaborate too much at this time but one may study how the hideout.mytown.tel is structured with best SEO. The page was indexed by telpages.com in 3 days and other major search engines picked it up in 5-6 days.

hideout.mytown.tel is a single page in mytown.tel domain. NOT linked internally
Similarly, any tel domain can have 2999 single tel pages without linking to one another.

We plan to produce at least half a million similar pages within the next few weeks.
    This process is already underway.

Every single tel page we produce for rental (for communication contact records ONLY) will pave the way for three new tel registrations. For instance, hideout.mytown.tel is a unique single tel page.
It gives an idea for others to register single page "hideoutmytown.tel", "hideout-mytown.tel" and also "hideout.tel" (All the regs can have Title "Hideout Mytown" - good option for SEO.)

Our aim is to target all possible smartphone users.
Not very much interested in Desktops as very few use them for communication.

Do smartphone owners rush to buy subdomains?

Show at least one example of such a purchase on 10-20 subdomains ...

and if you have subdomains 500,000 - as you update them?
Statistics say within a year to update (correct) to 70% of the records, or about 30,000 per month or 1000 a day ...

    You forget what a dream.

There is a similar project from the probably biggest .tel investor ever from Germany who bought tens of thousands (!) .tel domains in 2009 (most in German language), but has dropped a lot meanwhile, too!

    His personal .tel: Peter.Horn.tel

One example for his directories: Einbruchsicherungen.tel (English translation = burglar alarms)

You will find the subdomains full with addresses from German SMBs, even these .tel domains itself are not popular yet.
