During the last days a large part of the daily registrations displayed on the known .tel info sites are domains that have been registered in the year 2009 (or on other days):

    https://www.telmasters.com/tools/daily_registration
The real number of daily registrations is even smaller than shown.

Rather than look at Daily registrations I believe it's the Long Term Trend that matters.

Here'e the best source I have found which covers .TEL for the last 5 calendar years:

    http://www.hosterstats.com/DomainNameCounts2009.php
    http://www.hosterstats.com/DomainNameCounts2010.php
    http://www.hosterstats.com/DomainNameCounts2011.php
    http://www.hosterstats.com/DomainNameCounts2012.php
    http://www.hosterstats.com/DomainNameCounts2013.php

With a peak of 333,891 on 1 March 2011 and a figure of 233,866 on 1 April 2013 it's obvious the .TEL REGISTRATION TREND is RELENTLESSLY DOWNWARDS !

But I don't think the overall numbers are still important, because the service for Telnic is already closed.

We should take only a look at Telnames:
    March 26: 38 new domains
    March 27: 41 new domains
    March 28: 55 new domains
    March 29: 5 new domains
    March 30: 2 new domains
    March 31: 1 new domain
    April 1: 5 new domains

March 29 - April 1 was of course the 4-Day Easter break in the UK, but whichever way you look at it .TEL IS LOSING TOTAL REGISTRATIONS AT A RAPID RATE !

We have yet to see how many Telnames registrants will renew as the first anniversary has not yet been reached, but I just get the feeling that many Telnames newbies are expecting their .tels to be found somehow by new customers wanting their services !

Given that 1-page Telnames .tels are unlikely to figure on the first page of Google results for popular search terms (keyed-in without adding "tel" at the end), and that no Tel Global Directory exists, it's difficult to identify how these Telnames .tels are going to be found by potential new customers ?

With these sort of problems around you would think that Telnic would at least want to KEEP THE EXISTING TELNIC .TEL CUSTOMERS HAPPY - if they want to do this all they need to do is read this forum to see why many Telnic .tel customers are so dissatisfied.

Will they do that and take action to avoid the continuous loss of Telnic .tel customers ?

Somehow I doubt it - but I would be delighted if they proved me wrong !

Mike, you wrote the most important sentence during the existence of this forum today:
burying your head in the sand never works in business in the long term !
Together with your thoughts above it's only a question of time until Telnic will do something to attract customers. Everything else will be suicide!

Telnic tried this with Telnames and I would love to see the surprise in their faces that they sold only 8,000 domains during 12 months.
My bet is Telnic didn't understand until today that a website unable to be found is worth nothing.

Telnic only needs to follow the advices available on this forum to guarantee good Google results. Only if Telnames websites appear on the first page for attractive keywords, many people would discover .tel.
    The potential is still here.
