These are the numbers from the last week:

2 new Telnames on 29th June
5 new Telnames on 30th June
18 new Telnames on 1st July
18 new Telnames on 2nd July
18 new Telnames on 3th July
29 new Telnames on 4th July

The numbers are decreasing constantly compared to previous months. (On weekends almost no activity is visible.)

Was it wise from Telnic to shift all resources from Telnic to Telnames?

That was the moment when Telnic started to stumble.
Imagine the registration numbers if Telnic would have given the Telnames template to all customers!
But the effects of Telnic's decision are well-known (loss of trust, infuriation, anti-campaigns against Telnic, loss of independent developers, disappointment of partners like registrars and collapse of registrations).
The worst case has happened ... and no improvement is in sight! Telnic is still convinced to be on the right track.

The tld .tel has only one hope to compete with literally THOUSANDS of other tld's - Telnames and an Official Telnames Directory.

.tel will NEVER compete with any other tld or websites, ever.

Telnic was/is smart enough to realize this, and is focusing correctly on the page anyway.

Now they just need to focus on even a simple directory and the tld has
the ONLY hope it will ever have as a unique, useful tld.

This is just how it is for .tel and nothing will change that.

    Google = .whatever and Websites
    Yellow/White Pages = YP/WP.whatever and lame Listings
Facebook = facebook.com/ whoever and social pages
Telnames Directory = whoever.tel and those great Telnames Pages

This is their niche, embrace it, 'cause it's all the hope that .tel will ever have as a tld by ICANN !

This is also GREAT hope, because it's a GREAT niche !

As I and so many others suggested at the time - such a move would have been both morally right (Telnic the registry funded the development of the single-page .tel format at Telnames the "registrar" - technically a reseller) and also made sound business sense in helping to grow user numbers and avoiding mass discontent.

But what do domain investors and software developers know about the way the internet works ?

Or use this Google search - https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3A.tel+%22powered+by+telnames.com%22 - which shows INDEXED TELNAMES .TELS ARE NOW DOWN TO JUST 4,260 !

Not all of this paltry total of 4,260 indexed Telnames will be fully loaded with content - still TELNIC/TELNAMES KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING, DON'T THEY ?

    http://MikeSeaton.tel

PS. The above question was of course rhetorical !
