Now I see why .tel has still more than 200,000 registered domains.
Most of them are registered by people who have absolutely no clue what they are doing.
Who needs domain names like those?

While the experts have left during the last years, .tel can survive only with people registering domains without sense.

@ Spocky  Very clever, you win the competition hands down! I wonder how you are able to search for these long domains?

I am quite surprised that some of these long domains are PRO Tels, I would have expected them to all be Telnames.

The one I first spotted,    http://wedding-decorations-favours-by-perfectfinishingtouches.tel/   is a PRO Tel which is owned by a shop which already has the url   hxxp://www(dot)perfectfinishingtouches(dot)co(dot)uk

I wonder why they didn't purchase  perfectfinishingtouches.tel  and then set up subdomains?  Is there a lack of information around about setting up subdomains with PRO Tels?

 Re long urls:  I found this subdomain on one of the tels quoted by Spocky http://suche-im-bundesland.deutsch.grundschulen-hauptschulen-realschulen-deutschland.tel/  !!  (89 Characters)

This is the core problem:
Internet users don't know a) that .tel exists and b) what to do with a .tel.
This situation needs to be changed.
How to do this? The easiest way would be to create a nice locking design in combination with good SEO.
If people would find a .tel through Google searches and like what they see, then they will understand.
