Whilst no-one outside of the company can say for certain that Telnic subdomain .tels will eventually be dropped a couple of clues:

    1. The vast majority of items TELNIC stated on their ROADMAP as being launched by the end of Q2 2011 (ie. 30 JUNE 2011) have NOT HAPPENED by today !

    2. The ONLY DEVELOPMENT & MARKETING that takes place these days is for TELNAMES SINGLE-PAGE .TELS !

Go figure it out as to where this is LOGICALLY heading !

PS. Telnic's Roadmap for the end of Q2 2011 was removed by them from their site on 1 July 2011 - the first day of Q3 2011 !

For the record, here's the 8 items from Telnic's Roadmap (for subdomain .tels) due for implementation by the end of Q2 2011 (ie. 30 June 2011) - over 2 years ago !

    1. Google Adsense for mobiles - Rendering adverts on smartphone devices

    2. Customization of .tel pages - Simpler and more diverse template options for your unique .tel feel

    3. Free calls - Easy "call me for free" button on .tel pages for VoIP service integration

    4. Control panel redesign - More intuitive control panel with easier access to frequently used tasks

    5. Folder management - Easier navigation and management of folders within the control panel

    6. TelAds and vouchers - Managing advertisements within the control panel, including image adverts

    7. Privacy and friending - Much simplified model for private data sharing

    8. Profiles - Improved management of profiles for quickly switching between preset views of your .tel

    That depends on Telnic.
After the .tel operator has never developed the Telnic product seriously, it was neglected completely later on.
Now the same team is busy with the non-development of Telnames.
How to predict what does not come next?

Could a correlation exist between the laziness of a software developer and his poor sales figures?

    That's the main problem.
Telnic doesn't want to develop software or useful templates.
Telnic provides the DNS administration and wants others to develop something useful on top.
It's malicious that no one is willing to do it for free.
But however, if somebody would like to do it, Telnic won't allow it anyway.

With all the future updates with google and the changes in the future with the internet

Anybody who keeps developing his dot tel with the old tel format with no future updates may well be as mad as a bag of frogs.

At least with telnames you may have a chance with all the future updates google rolls out.

With no future updates old dot Tel is dead.

@hulltv - I used to be "mad" - but not any more - sooner or later the penny drops with everyone !

One day Telnic will be mad at themselves for not having recognized the obvious earlier. But that day still seems to be far away.

The best part is this is .. Their customers still register the old dot tel .... The one Telnic wants nothing to do with

What this does is split there customers on two different formats
Just plain stupid thing to do.

Their best bet now is to spend no more money on dot Tel
And just walk away find new jobs talk the talk someplace else

    And they will..... !

They can't afford to stay, to have your name associated with dot Tel and the mess its in they would struggle to talk the talk someplace else.

then we would be in trouble...!
