Re: Potential successors of Telnic
I want to vote for Afilias but I doubt they'd be interested now - with the extra work of setting up and maintaining the CTH, as well as the pressure to develop the formats - compared to the easy route of taking on any New gTLD that may become available.
Telnic were warned by myself and so many others that they had to get their act together BEFORE the New gTLDs hit the streets - advice that was as usual ignored and now I fear there will be little or no interest from established companies when .tel finally hits the buffers as the cash to pay salaries and expenses runs out !
Probably all that's left then is a management buyout at minimal cost since there will be no other interested parties ?
Not long to wait now to find out !

Who would have enough money to buy it?

Re: Potential successors of Telnic
Operators have a lot of choices to buy a nTLD now. No need to watch .tel anymore, because since the beginning of 2014 there are enough alternatives.

@4444 - You're absolutely right of course - I implored Telnic 2 or 3 years ago (on the Telnic forum before being banned) to take the necessary worldwide marketing steps to get .tel in front of "Joe Public" BEFORE the new gTLDs hit the streets.
As usual my advice, and that of other forum members along the same lines, was totally ignored !
Telnic always thought - and still do - that input from experienced software developers, internet marketers, domain investors and power users was/is of no importance.
Events seem to have proved Telnic wrong on this !

Re: Potential successors of Telnic
Yes it's interesting. A logical conclusion is that they don't want .tel to be successful. Perhaps it was only about suckering the public to set up nice incomes for the people involved.
Or maybe they always knew it was a turkey so they only went through the motions.
Their motto can only be: F**k The Customer
I strangely cannot find a company with that implied motto that has been successful although some used car dealers might fit the bill.

@TelBlogger
I disagree!
I think the guys at Telnic believed in what they said.
Unfortunately they haven't been able to convince enough customers.
The reasons for this are well-known:

The reasons for this are well-known:
- non-competitive pricing
- slow development
- too little effort in finding and supporting partners

Re: Potential successors of Telnic
Survey:
Who will be the biggest employer of ex-Telnic staff once Telnic goes bust?
1. Wendys
2. KFC
3. McDonalds
$. Burger King
5. Pizza Hut
6. Dunkin' Donuts
My vote is 3. because of the excellent retraining program. In a few years time maybe one of them could even work front-of-house with customer contact. But this may be an unrealistic ambition because they would be likely to offend their customers.
Customer: Could I have a big Mac and fries please?
ex-Telnic employee: No.
Customer: What?
ex-Telnic employee: F**k off I'm busy.
Customer: F**k you.
ex-Telnic employee: No f**k you.
ex-Telnic employee then turns back to the customer and the queue of people behind them. The customers beg to make their orders. ex-Telnic employee ignores them until the owner comes along and makes an executive decision: back to cutting fries for ex-Telnic employee!

@Moonlight
You are a brainless humourless automaton.
Perhaps you are a Telnic employee. Your photo is of the chubby girl in the original Telnic ads. Try and break out of your IT stupor.
If you read my post you brainless skank you will see the comments relate to AFTER TELNIC GOES BUST. So why be a total f**k head and post about people who have already left. You are so stupid it is scary.
On reflection you must be a Telnic employee because you are so stupid.

Re: Potential successors of Telnic
It must be really tough getting through each day with the brain power of a chocolate fish moonlight.
Date on photograph 16.2.14.
Chubby girl photo and video 5 years ago. This pommy was a plumper back then.
The fatty lost weight is all. I wrote - Your photo is of the chubby girl in the original Telnic ads.
Let me give you some free advice. Find a power transformer, expose a high tension cable and grab it with both hands. Maybe shock treatment can restore some basic functions to your brain cells.

Re: Potential successors of Telnic
So far Telnic pretends that Key Systems is the registrar for .tel domains at Telnames, but that is only a skin game to hide the real involvement of Telnic who operates Telnames without an official registrar.
Since Telnic is generating big losses both with the business at Telnic AND at Telnames, probably Telnic need to be sold soon. Due to the bad public image of Telnic, who else would be interested to buy Telnic if not Key Systems?
