Not only Telnic.org has a ".tel of the week".

Telnames.com has its "This week's featured .tel name".

Currently it's Bristol Glass Centre.

Nice site at http://BristolBlueGlass.tel - it clearly shows the small business / 1-man trader market that .tel is now targeting.

I note the title of the page http://www.telnames.com/what-is-a-dot-tel
is What is a .tel? NOT What is a Telname? - newbies will naturally assume that this is all a .tel can be i.e. they will not get to hear of the Telnic subdomain .tels.

Since the very limited promotion that is being undertaken is all under the Telnames banner, it seems logical to assume the Telnic subdomain templates will represent a smaller and smaller percentage of populated .tels.

I had a lot of plans for populating many Telnic subdomain .tels, but these have now been called into question since how can I showcase this format to customers when all they will ever see promoted are the Telnames single-page video / image gallery / coupon / background image version ?

This confused marketing message with 2 completely different versions of .tel needs to be resolved BEFORE the essential worldwide marketing actually starts !

Indeed! Telnic must be aware about those two offers with different features could disappoint customers, especially when newbies buy a .tel and expect different designs they have seen on other .tels.
The software resources from Telnic have been transferred to Telnames only temporarily. Right after the Telnames template Telnic have launched the three new templates which had a delay mainly because of the new project for Telnames.
I assume Telnic will continue with realization the roadmap and with implementing features from Telnames at Telnic (e. g. background pictures) and the other way round (e. g. subdomains).
Otherwise it wouldn't make sense.

Based on everything Telnames have written in their various blog entries at http://tel-names.tumblr.com I'm absolutely convinced that Telnames will never offer subdomains as an option.
