.tel is much better than many of you think! Empty .tel is much better than many of you think!

I don’t follow the opinion of a lot of other members on this forum.

People complain about slow development pace, but they forget .tel is a competitive cheap solution. Where else you can get a website including hosting (on desktops AND on mobiles) for just $10 all-inclusive?
Of course with this price we can’t expect the development force as from global players.

People complain about missing features, but .tel has evolved dramatically within the last 3 years.
Can you remember the first plain template from 2009?
In 2012 we can add almost everything into .tel what is needed to build a complete website.
So very soon everything whatever the market demands will follow.

People complain about the reduced marketing effort.
When looking back at the year 2009, we have seen a lot of commercials and advertisement, but even the great “blondes love technology” commercial was not able to attract enough customers, because they don’t see the need to register a .tel domain yet, because they don’t think about the future needs in technology.
There are other channels which need to be activated: user experience and the word of mouth!
The domain industry doesn’t work with commercials; instead it works with usability. And every successful top level domain in the past needed a lot of years before it hit the street.
This won’t be different with .tel!
From the observation of the past years we know Telnic won’t increase the marketing right now, because the management has seen this isn’t working as fast as wanted at the moment. Why wasting money?

Of course with massive marketing it is possible to create a speculative bubble like GoDaddy has done with .co for Colombia.
But honestly at the end of the day if I am a serious business owner, I don’t want to own a domain with an extension which only refers to a country in South America which is known first of all for drug trafficking, kidnapping and one of the highest crime rates in the whole world.
Anybody who is thinking about his reputation seriously will definitely avoid the top level domain .co!

People complain time is running fast and .tel has to take its chance as quick as possible.
As many of you know the technical solution behind .tel is completely different than any other technology in the world.
I’m not worrying that .tel will be outperformed by competitors, because there are no competitors in the whole world for the DNS solution Telnic provides!
This includes the new top level domains too. Because if they want to go the same road as Telnic, they have to go through the same market difficulties as Telnic. In addition I don’t see any other top level domain with the intention using the DNS.

But take a look at the complainers: nowhere on the internet you can read from any end user he isn’t satisfied with the product he bought with a .tel!
Without exception the complainers are only domain investors who complain that they can’t make fast profit!

Sorry to all guys who have complained so much in the past about the missing success, but beside Google and Facebook I haven’t seen many vertical starters in the past. Most revolutionary technologies needed long time to build a wide customer base. So what is the big deal if Telnic needs some time to convince people of the advantages of this great product which they just don’t know yet?

But do you really think Telnic isn’t interested in its own success?

Just stay patient and in a few years we’ll talk again!

@Natal, thanks for your positive post. I had an earlier similar post today over at Telnic forum. Domain investors need to participate instead of complaining - start by really populating those 1,000's of empty domains. Telnic's strategy could be one of building up Telnames (now just under 1,000 domains) with successful small business implementations, let's say to 5,000 then start some marketing momentum with these. All .tel domains will benefit when this occurs. Then you might see some more activity with the "professional" .Tel infrastructure.

"I don’t follow the opinion of a lot of other members on this forum." so why should we follow yours? I hope you're not telnic doing damage control... however if we look at http://natal.tel I see an email for http://domaine.fr which is a registrar thus I assume you work for them and are doing damage control?
    ..
It really would be nice if you have a valid opinion and you use .tel to be more upfront and involved not just trying to market a "what we all ready know", "regardless of what we profess" opinion to us without knowing who we are and why this forum exists other than "a few people didn't like the progress of the .tel domain".
    ..
Second you don't even use http://natal.tel so don't preach without backing it up, however if you are a registrar employee should you not display as such? why the subterfuge? and what will you offer us in terms of development to transfer our .tel domains to http://domaine.fr
    ..
Am I to assume you're working on templates and other things? or you're just interested in absorbing up sales and don't care about the true development and the words you preach?
    ..
We're not as stupid as you think and if you are indeed the registrar employee and not a troll it's a pleasure to meet you, other than this I can't say much more as I have to assume you're not listening to us and thus anything further is a waste of my time just like domain monster was.

http://domaine.fr currently has a .tel promo for only €6.99 per domain! Not bad, right?

Everything what I wrote in my statement above is my personal opinion. I'm aware I won't be able to convince every forum member, and perhaps I'm even wrong, but in the sense of free speech I can guarantee I was not influenced by sponsors, investment bankers or alcohol when I wrote it!

Well said Fustachio, TelTalk was bound to get a few "plants" trying it on sooner or later !

As you say, it's a bit of a cheek to preach to forum members when he/she can't even be bothered to populate his/her own domain http://natal.tel !

This perhaps shows the true purpose of Natal making his/her post ?

Even the post above should be just covered advertisement, for the time being it's the cheapest way to register a .tel.
