I don't want to list in this post many examples of new .tel domains at Telnames, but many look quite great, e. g. CBRNe.tel.

Like this example shows with only a few ideas it is possible to create a memorizable web appearance!

Unfortunately beginners on the internet make some mistakes in comparison, e. g. arb-coretreecareltd-donington-lincolnshire.tel:

    • Using a domain name much too long (This is very bad, e. g. on business cards.)
    • Using a blurred background picture with cut objects (This can always be adjusted.)

They all look great compared to the standard templates when populated.

No amount of template selection can replace the user's choice of photography.

A picture is worth a thousand words .... and a thousand templates.

Both work well together though, especially with .tel links.

http://van.tel is an old to new, directory to telnames concept.

http://yellowsearch.tel is a new to old, telnames to directory concept.

    Good stuff alone, or together.

Oh, TEL would be amazing if all features from Telnic and Telnames would be combined!
Why on earth I have to register my TEL at Telnames or in China to insert wallpapers?

Why not contact http://Kash.tel, http://Fiona.tel or http://IanBM.tel and ask that question ?

Their contact details (including mobile phone) are on the .tels listed above.

They are respectively CEO, CFO and CMO of both Telnic Ltd. and Telnames Ltd. - so if anyone can tell you they can !

    YES !

I have phoned Ian Bowen-Morris twice in recent weeks (using the mobile number on http://IanBM.tel) to stress the urgent need for a worldwide marketing program (preferably via an established affiliate portal such as http://www.CJ.com) for .tel !

Whilst not detailing our private conversations, I can confirm that Ian (a former Yell.com marketing boss) accepts the need to get .tel promoted on a worldwide basis.

However as with anything in life or business it is actions, rather than intentions, that actually count for success.

I do feel that .tel no longer has the luxury of time on it's side (it did at launch 3.5 years ago) - software developers time and domain investors money will soon be heading to the new gTLDs if .tel doesn't get it's marketing act together very soon !

It remains to be seen how urgently Telnames addresses this issue - I know a worldwide affiliate program can be put together very quickly using sites such as http://CJ.com
