@maximka: is that a live banner that is refreshed automatically? I do similar for dynamic image at www.ads4.tel right side showing current time. I have my current tweet as an image but can't remember the tel site.

Anything can be written into an image so a live weather report is quite easy. I'll create a sample soon. It is a bit CPU intensive so I haven't offered it as a service. Only use similar on my own sites.

    P.S.
One of the moving is in English language, but again - I did not managed to upload it.

Load into .Tel with my Quick Update tool. Either as your logo, or image banner.

? you don't need to upload the image into the .tel.

it's fairly simple - you simply point the url of the image to actually a script that generates the image on the fly rather then a static image. This way when someone views the image it could be different but the url is the same. I use this on several of my tel's when updating your location but showing as an image.

Could you show us some of your examples where the content of the picture gets updated without reloading the .tel, because I still doubt this is possible?

sure - go to Oxford Street Shopping and you will see there is a jump to image before the main content. The text shown in that image is dynamically generated and written depending on where you visit from ;)

    dottel.net01-15-2012 05:14 PM

right - as you said, your initial post was unclear. you:

    1. can update the image on a page load
    2. use an animated image

you can't dynamically refresh content on the page without a refresh as there is no provision to allow this through adding your own script, ajax, etc on a .tel domain

    Mark Kolb (Kprobe)01-15-2012 05:31 PM

As I said, you CAN write dynamic data in real-time to an image on your tel. I do this on many .Tels eg visitors counter, twitter feeds, time, location, etc.

Here is an example of the current weather in www.Turin.tel. Come back later and refresh the page to get weather at that time.

You can write anything including realtime stock quotes. It's just a matter of programming a feed and converting into text and embedded images. I can create a really fancy weather banner with clouds etc if I want to. Don't have the time at the moment.

However, a live ticker for weather or stock quotes that changes without a refresh cannot be done because that requires something like scripting or websockets.

@jens I don't think a .tel site is suitable for perpetually-refreshed content. Use a mobile app instead.

@maximka, your GIF can only be created once from a .com site that creates these animations. To create a dynamic banner that is recreated on each visit is probably unnecessary, Why not just create a new GIF next time you add lots of new pictures?

Both work for SEO. But why delete the extract link as more internal links are supposedly better for SEO?

    There is a third alternative.
Create hidden subfolders under Calella.tel, one per hostel
    eg
    estrella-de-mar.calella.tel
then have a master index under
    youth-hostels-calella.accommodation.calella-de-maresme.calella.tel
with Goto's which point to each hostel.
That way you can have more direct search results in Google with shorter names and you can have more than 100 folders at the root since there are no goto's at the root.

    @maximka,

There is a lot going on in your site - two towns and two languages. For simplicity of maintenance/updating, I would go with the example on the left. The thing that will get the search engines finding the site is the inclusion of appropriate keywords within the text header areas.

On a separate point, I liked your animated banner when it was new but, having just spent a few minutes contemplating the content and structure of www.callela.tel I found that it became a distraction. May I suggest that you slow it down by about 75% and increase the number of title references?

    Kind regards

Right clicking on the image and copying just that URL may be an improvement. I don't know what it would look like on a mobile.

may be http://88.26.178.142:4343 is the better

I like the fade in of the second image on right, might want to speed it up more.
