I propose to discuss Las Vegas guide
The guide are available only to major hotels in Las Vegas, as an example of Venetian Las Vegas.

A domain name with a hyphen suitable?

Don't waste your time. Google will not rank this kind of domain. You can not put high quality content on pages such as the Venetian one. Consequently you won't rank and you will not be able to sell space to any hotel either. Hotels use websites with traffic and good presentations.

If you want to develop a Las Vegas domain into a worthwhile (profitable) website make it one that can carry good content. This includes most other domain extensions.

In this case, it vryamya already spent. My experience is that it is not necessary have a big one request. Suffice it to collect small requests or  big  requests to be on 1 page. It's real.
Site Las-Vegas.tel new. I work with sites in several stages. In this case the first stage. Stages of the work plan for several years.
And I see that you do not have a correct understanding of the quality and unique content. Many spoke with representatives of Google. My experience also suggests that it is not a useless effort.

It looks like a website with a "normal" domain extension like .com or .net.

Relating to your domain name:
Hyphens are hardly used in America.
Internet users will usually open http://lasvegas.tel instead.

I realized, as calmly took a hyphen several major US cities with a hyphen. 
These sites are not developed yet an example Los Angeles California and San-Diego California

I hope that Seo will not affect negatively the hyphen, but in terms of the perception of the hyphen in the search always had better ctr in these words.

Another town in California San-Jose California. Apparently, these sites will have to develop simultaneously.
