It's a very good domain name in the right development hands (thinking "Click-to-Call" monetization) but I won't be going after it as I have far too much future work stacked up already !

Something odd about the recent Drop figures at http://www.teltalk.org/?stats

For example,

- the “Stats” Drop figure on http://www.teltalk.org/?stats for 2017-08-29 is 21.

- the “Droplist” Drop figure on http://www.teltalk.org/?date=20170829 for 2017-08-29 is 89.

Surely these figures must always be the same ?

No:

Domains are dropping much earlier before they are available for registration by new registrants again.

As example:

89 .tel domains dropped on 2017-07-25. Several weeks later they become available on 2017-08-29.

The 89 domain names listed at http://www.teltalk.org/?date=20170829 are both Dropped AND Immediately Available for re-registration.

Here are 3 examples showing Immediate Availability from the 89 dropped on 2017-08-29.

So my original assertion is correct:

My assumuption is that .tel domains get recogniced as dropped as soon they disappear in the .tel zone which usually happens earlier than the effective drop date when the domain gets available for re-registration again.

The service at teltalk.org has stopped / paused.

The last update was on 2017-09-14.

Yes - I noticed that when I checked http://teltalk.org/?stats and http://teltalk.org/?droplists recently.

I had hoped it was just a temporary blip which would be followed by a catch-up (it's happened at least once before) but it's beginning to look bad now for this very useful service !

Maybe the owner of http://teltalk.org could chip in here ?

Which makes .TEL more popular (marginally) than .XXX at 97,364 !

Today's Sun 8 Oct 2017  figure for .TEL Total Registrations is 85,001 - a Drop of 12,724 (13%) in just 18 Days !

Kash and Telnic/Telnames need to SELL the .TEL gTLD NOW to an organisation such as Afilias that could stop the rot, be pro-active, get the marketing going, etc, etc !

Here is the current way I use to find the names of .TEL Domains both Registered & Dropped for any chosen date.

1. Click https://domainpunch.com/premium/daily.php

2. Go to "DATE" heading in Top Left and select chosen date.

3. Go to "TLDS" heading in Bottom Left and type in tel (do NOT prefix with a dot) in "TLD" box.

4. Screen will respond with "TEL DOMAINS ADDED" & "TEL DOMAINS DELETED" on right-hand side.

5. To view stats for any other dates just repeat Action 2).
