mystery of not implementing VOIP

Introducing VOIP on .tel page basis was on the cards long time ago.
If it was implemented, instead of diverting to SMB sites, probably .tel would have achieved the so called critical masses by today.

Why it was NOT implemented is still a mystery to me.

And it could have been the stepping stone to Name Dialling!
.tel has to show something unique, instead of following others.

Either laziness or a desire not to rock the boat with services they hoped would integrate them, doing nothing and playing the field of we're not a threat and you should integrate us didn't pay off and in my unwarranted opinion if you're going to be a leading provider of such and such you need to be a leader and step on a few toes here and there, otherwise companies and services will see you as weak and ignore integrating what you provide.

The "call me for free" button on .tel pages for VOIP service integration was scheduled for delivery no later than 30 June 2011 - almost 18 months ago !
