At the current rate of dropping registered .tel domains and considering "names" (some are premium names) of those dropped tel domains recently and in the recent past, the .tel registry is definitely heading for a crash by end of June this year when lot of registered tel domains might not be renewed any more.
But we feel such disastrous situation can be avoided if Telnic decides to develop the current Telhosting panel to include the management of latest features (such as Ads, Video etc )Telnic added lately. And make it simpler to operate (We are aware that Telnic is capable of doing something similar to the Management Panel of Telnames) by general public.Telnic is not going to lose anything by doing this.
If Telnic can do this at least before the end of the First Quarter '13, then there is a possibility to retain some of the existing customers.
Other IMPORTANT thing is that they should explain to people that Telnames is not .tel, but is a service based on the .tel platform and it can not have multiple folders.
Today, lot of people are confused with the two systems.
We know this because many new .tel Owners attempt to manage (through TELcp) their .tel domains registered at Telnames.
In our TELcp system we have a method to inform us of every failed attempt by non existent .tel registrars whenever a .tel Owner request OAuth Token from the registrar's control panel. Many tel Owners in this forum have also had this experience. Telnames is not included in our white list. So every attempt (to manage through TELcp) made by Telname users is notified to us by a system generated e-mail. Then we reply back and explain the difference between .tel domain registered at Telnames and other Registrars.
This is a clear indication that many of these new registrants are NOT aware of the two systems.
We do not wish to explain the reason for all this. Readers reserve the right to come to their own conclusions. All we know is that some of the new tel Owners are confused.
So, it is the duty of the service provider to make this clearer to the customer. As a service to all failed tel Owners we just started adding this explanation from today. When they receive the reply from us they will at least understand what they miss.
