It doesn't provide the most important component of all - content. Your last bolded (by me) statement is ridiculous and risible.

When Telnames will launch a complete product instead of promoting a one-page site? Telnic really knows how to slow things down.

One of the biggest problems is that everyone knows the bad SEO abilities of Telnames. If someone isn't sure about registering a Telname, he only has to google it and will find the facts latest on this forum.

IMO the vast majority of potential new Telnames registrants won't bother to do this.

If you check out new .tel registrations on a regular basis (not this week as current registrations are often premium keywords dropped on 23/24 March) you will see many domains registered in the format Service+Location or Location+Service.

Have a look at some after they have been populated and you will often find that the very basic minimum SEO requirement of making sure your target keywords are present in the page title has not been implemented.

In other words many Telnames registrants are newbies - nothing wrong with that and we all have to start somewhere - but many seem to be under the impression that just owning ServiceLocation.tel or LocationService.tel will get you near the top of Google for the query "Service Location" or "Location Service" - it won't !

So with no sign of the promised Tel Global Directory - which would at least give some SEO link juice and targeted traffic - a certain percentage of newbie Telnames registrants are going to become disenchanted when the new customers fail to materialise in any bulk.

In 12 months time they may or may not renew - but by then it could be GAME OVER for the .tel project unless some drastic action is taken by Telnic/Telnames now !

Does it require that much? I think only very fundamental criteria are missing which needed to be realized in the first place. But Telnic is ignoring them steadily. Why Telnames is doing marketing as long .tel is still in beta? I could even imagine no marketing would be necessary if .tel would be developed according to important requirements.

I don’t understand why Telnic is wasting the time with promotion activities. If Telnic would provide a nice website for customers at Telnic, people would start using their .tels registered 4 years ago and would do the promotion for Telnic.
