    EVEN WITH A 5 YEAR HEAD START over the thousand of gtlds that would be coming to market, Telnic and Telnames couldn't follow through on the OBVIOUS benefits of .tel as the new phonebook of the world.

    EPIC FAIL ... so far anyway.

    .xyz continues to lead the new gtld registrations, and has now broken through 400,000 registrations in a matter of weeks.

    New gtlds continue to rise while .tel continues to fall.

    .club breaks through the 100,000 registrations mark, well on its way to overtaking .tel

    .xyz continues to lead new gtld registrations as it approaches 500,000.

    .CLUB were not afraid to take expert advice !

    I've suggested to Telnic many times that they need the help of these two domain marketing experts who set up this TLD marketing counsultancy

    But as usual TELNIC ALWAYS KNOW BEST and ignores all advice !

    The trouble is they don't always know best - because if they did we wouldn't have a TLD on its last legs with total registrations down from a not that impressive 333,891 to a pathetic 135,378 today !

    My belief is that Telnic never seriously thought that .tel could be successful even right from the start. Their actions since the beginning of .tel are those of a dabbler just going through the motions. The only thing they ever did right was the marketing of the original concept back in 2008/2009.

    If that really is the case - and I'm not saying I agree with you - then they did a brilliant job in persuading a group of investors to part with $35,000,000 and also getting forum members (including myself) to spend so much time and money on the .tel project !

    Yes, as I said the initial marketing was brilliant. In complete contrast to what happened after the money was raised. 

    It was quickly apparent that the concept of the single contact point was a failure. Something needed to be done but it never was. They spent almost no money on development and did not support third party developers.

    One early warning was the ridiculous competition they held for new designs. Instead of paying proper designers. That was the point at which every rational investor should have dropped their domains, but for many the psychological pain was too much.

    The only logical explanation in my opinion is they didn't expect the idea to be successful. People higher up I mean made that decision. Not the work-a-day droids like the customer service guy Ahmed or some such.

    If they wanted success they would have changed their approach. They never did until they f**ked all their domain investors with Telnames - another complete failure but not an expensive one I think for them. 

    Telnic is an unmitigated disaster in every way by design not by chance in my opinion!

    Is it not the case that all parties are aware of Telnic's incapacity already and just waiting for the transmission of Telnic's transactions to a successor?

    But .tel has one big advantage: nobody will ever find your .tel domain. Consequently, you will never be bothered. Quietness is very relaxing and could be also a good thing!
