• Headlines
  
• Folders to open and close (as it was intended for template number 8 in the control panel from Telnic, too)
  
• Flexible and long text
  
• Contact forms including captcha codes
  
• Call buttons

Western people have to getting used to the typical Chinese style with all this coloring, but the domain shows impressively how flexible the customizing of .tel domains can be!

It will be just a matter of time until registrants with .tel domains at other registrars will get advanced websites, too!

The Chinese design looks pretty damn ugly, but the integrated features are great.
If a programmer with taste would create a similar design, finally .tel could get a presentable and useable website.
After 2009 just another few years and we will see what is necessary to bring .tel to market!

How can I program my own design for a tel domain? What tools can I use? Is there a special programming language for this?

Telnic has made it possible for Registrars to host and maintain their own CTH and as such produce their own proxy variations. Any features/restrictions that are made in these custom versions have no impact on the standard CTH which is provided by Telnic to all registrars, including the number of records in a folder, the number of characters permitted in each section and the number of subfolders permitted.

So unfortunately you can't do this if you are not a registrar for .tel domains!

So far there are only 3 parties who offer alternative templates:

• Telnames
  
• TelChina
  
• NovalTel

A lot of .tel owners with development skills would love to develop their own template, but they are not allowed to do so!

Probably because Telnic want to keep the reins in their hands.

There would be several disadvantages for them:

If they allow independent parties to develop their own design, Telnic can't govern the strategy for design and features of .tel domains.

In addition the effort for Telnic would increase by communication, administration and approval of new .tel templates.

By preventing external development, Telnic blocks the only way to success! Competitors can celebrate!

Yes I agree.

But it won't be from registrars' own software developments since over 3.5 years they have clearly shown they have zero interest in doing this - it will be from a partnership with http://www.Telnames.com (outside of China) and their http://YourBusiness.tel template.

Programming a fully operational template (including sub domains, big pictures, background pictures, contact forms and advanced text sections) would need only 1 or 2 weeks.
Because Telnic refuse developing this since March 2009, how one of the more than 100 registrars can be convinced realizing only 1 proper template?
Shouldn’t they see the advantage of providing a better product than their competitors?
They can have this even almost for free if they let one of the bigger .tel investors do the work, because those have an urgent need for improvement!

zouwei.tel is loading very slowly on my computer. Is this because the DNS server is located in China?

Yes, the location of the server has some influence for the loading time.

But very important are also the customizing of the specific website content and the server speed.

It can be the server from Novaltel isn't that performant.

Another domain from the same provider which uses the pictures in a better way: LongduHotel.tel

Downside of this template is that empty folders are still visible, but don't contain anything.

I assume t is for tag? so is this like section highlighting? its very nice to have that and that's something that should have been done with telnames where the top and bottom of everything other than the tag request was hidden upon url entry, will that proxy change them to # tag urls in the future? as hash tags seem to have been the main choice from forums to wikipedia to twitter.

I lost a post as my other post got cliped into this thread, admins quicker than I am anyway I was saying I see telnames as a kind of old style rolladex where rolling a finger over the screen opens up sections of "card data" like in libary index cards, but a second click should open up the whole page hiding the top and bottom so exposing more data that way telnames can always be a single page but have unlimited content in the future or at least a little more like that proxy it can be fitted in if they apply a tagging system, but I love that idea of having the ablity to say whats important and not just the whole thing because its a simple thing that we should be able to say X is more important on a first view via this way I'm marketing and so use this tag link #contact #about #coupon for single and #coupons to show more than one, but that proxy seems to be coming along nice.
