It seems that Obama is going to drop his obama.tel. It is at a drop list at name.com now.

But it was not so.

It was barack.tel made by Dan.

Some politicians were very interested when I showed that page to a friend working at a local political party.
I was asked to register .tel and develop the site.

At first, they were very happy with that.
But gradually their demands are getting harder.
As time went by, they wanted more interactive and flexible pages.

I'm not a web developper, so I introduced web designer to them.
The Telpage I made had move to an ordinary site and I can't find it's trace anymore.
But the e-mail address registered at that time became their favorite, and it is still used as it is now.

Problem for .tel now is there is no killer contents like barack.tel at that time.

I use some examples bellow to explain .tel
They are not resolved yet, nowhere to go.

I liked the barak.tel page, I copied its color scheme for one of my .tel sites.

Speaking of the single page template, it's too limited to build something memorable and the same Telnames seems convinced, as it has dropped some of its domains used for demonstration purposes.

Better use .tel as normal domain and create a regular site. For my opinion.

Yes, as you pointed out in another thread

If Telnames drops its domains is not a good sign

It was the only raison d'etre for it to be itself.

But there are no developers and there is no funds left for development,
.tel is struggling to survive.

However, there are many registrations to protect the brand,
a lot of investments dreaming of getting rich in the future,
It might be enough for it to survive.

I think that it is up to us to revitalize it if there is no big movement.
