New Pay Per Call Monetisation opportunity

Commission Junction have now finalised their Pay Per Call offering - I've just signed up to this quoting http://Domains123.tel as my site for the application.

I mentioned in the application form to the affiliate program how suitable .tel is, with it's seamless operation on mobile phones and already existing click-to-call functionality.

Pay Per Call and .Tel does seem to be a match made in heaven (it works using special trackable phone numbers) - payouts look good with a UK travel company offering £5 per call - there are obviously conditions to the qualification for this "lead" payment but they all seem perfectly reasonable.

There's an introductory video available on the site explaining everything - you can access this once you get accepted - I applied at the weekend and got accepted on Monday.

PS. I note Directline Holidays have increased their commission payment since my initial post !

When thinking about name dialing would become a reality in the future, this kind of monetization could become the most important booster for people to invest into .tel!

As soon .tel will be used for its intended purpose (i.e. communication solutions) and not for the current usage (i.e. cheap websites) anymore, .tel will be king on every cell phone and in every pocket of domain investors.

Sadly this potential is known by a small minority of people only!

I do think that will change in the next 12 months - but my guess is that .Tel will become associated in the public's mind with the Telnames-style template, e.g. http://Ben.tel, rather than the original Telnic subdomain-based ones.

Actually there is no need to wait - I have just used the the "Invite Advertiser" tab available in http://cj-uk.ringrevenue.com/login to let CJ domain registration and web hosting advertisers know there are publishers waiting for them to sign up to Pay Per Call.

Also we've seen declining in activity and success, I agree with you .tel still has the potential for a great future.

The concept of using the DNS for so many purposes like communication, data exchange, networking and machine-to-machine has huge benefits and the power to connect the world much more efficient.

I only disagree with the speed of your estimation:
The future usage of .tel is based on change of user habits, e. g. dialing names instead of numbers, using new applications and accepting a complete changed way of interaction.
I don't think these changes will be possible to become reality within one year only.

And the past 3 years have shown how difficult it is for a revolutionary concept to reach mainstream.
