    http://redcross.tel

Who owns it and should it not be in some form of use? it's pretty lazy of it's owner to not do anything with it given the current situation and smacks of selfishness and greed, due to the Japanese disaster and others that are on going? http://redcross.tel

I'm aware you have restrictions on what data can be put up because they don't own the right to the name, but I think with domains like this it's unfair to have not reserved them or intervene.

Because right now it serves no purpose and might perhaps also distract people doing google searches, and will look bad on .tel

You can see here George Takei asking people to text to donate to REDCROSS, which all shows up in web searches and will push people to an unused camped .tel if they decide to search for more infomation on the web.

So can't telnic in this case perhaps be proactive and go and talk to the redcross and ask them to go through what ever process you have to reclam it for the benift of millions? as I feel ashamed to own a .tel when people can't even do the basics and are just looking out for no1.

    Absolutely agree with you Bunjie.

Whilst I too absolutely agree with the above, the address is almost impossible to find, it doesn't show up in the first 600 searches using either red cross or redcross.
If you enter redcross.tel Google defaults to (in my case) redcross.org.au
The only way is to type the name directly into the url box

philippines was saved from the destruction. Boracay was on high alert. a little island, flat mostly, nowhere really to run. huge relief in the community. schools closed early. tides rose a meter more than was normal....luckily timing was at the lowest tidal hour

...but even "redcross tel" which at least USUALLY can give a .tel a result many ranks higher up the list, is nowhere to be found. Many issues here... and less than 2 weeks from the renewals. looking for inspiration.[/size]

Do you actually live on the Islands, good to hear no damage, I started watching live coverage 30min after the initial quake, that tsunami was terrifying, nowhere to run! poor buggers.

I think you are onto something. Instead of remembering to text redcross to 90999 you could tel people to go to RedCross.tel. It would be easy for people to remember plus it would also help .tel gain recognition with the general public.

On a side note, RedCrescent.tel is available for registration. I believe the Red Crescent is the Muslim version of the Red Cross. Maybe somebody from Telnic should contact them about using it for donations. They could have a one touch link for each donation amount.
