    image ads LINKS

I cant find the intitial post about this, but I would like to ask telnic if its currently possible to turn OFF the links associated with the image ads? possibly via soap with 3rd party tools?

And will turning off image ad links be possible in the upcoming CTH beta?
    thanks

Why not just link it back to the .tel ?

because each click then opens yet another duplicate window of the .tel page.
happens on smartphones too, users will get immediately lost in directories.

Agreed. Should be a "No Link" option.

There's just a time and a place for a link, and a time a place it should not happen:

Image Ad Link Is Great Here: Registrations.tel

But Not So Much Here: Van.tel

it would be great if this simple request can be implemented. its up to telnic.

possibly telnic could explain the reasoning behind the different link states too. the image ads are forced into a new window, yet the text ads open into the same .tel window. why? whats the difference

dutch, maybe when you looked I had been trying a combo of marks tools and the teldomains.pl tools. it seems as though with marks tools you can enter an ad without a link, but then the ad will be completely suppressed by the .tel proxy, yet that same ad can still be found and edited by teldomains.pl etc etc. anyway, experimenting all to no avail. cannot currenetly remove the link period, so that makes using the ads area for complementary graphical navigation dead in the water (well, it would help somewhat if the ads opened in the .tel window, consistently as they do with the text ads)[/size]

problem here stems from the fact that the image ad space is designed and denoted as an ad so rightly expects a link.

This means if used for images (not advertising) - ad blockers will still hide and not display. What I'd like is an ability to use the space for non advertising (with the added option of enabling/disabling links). This way important add on services deployed using the image ad are not incorrectly blocked....

Somtimes my mobile ad is popping up on my laptop?!
above or under the ad for lap/desktop!
    This happens on a subdomain!
    Its scrambling up a bit!
Just like the indian logo, Thats not mine, popping up!

    Hello Boracay,

This is not a part of the upcoming CTH beta, but I have noted your suggestion regarding making the link type optional for internal review and discussion.

With regards to a setting to change the image from not being referred to as an "Ad" I'm afraid this is very unlikely to stop it being blocked by ad blockers. The Ad blockers are much more sophisticated than just looking at the labels and the dimensions/location and the fact that other .tels will be using them as ads will all very quickly result in them being flagged as such irrespective of the tag.
