- Building directories won't be able anymore
- All the past work for directories will be lost

- No developer support due to cancellation of the API
- No monetization due to cancellation of Google AdSense
- Limitation in content by using the new Telhosting template
- Loss of search rankings for directories
- Loss of profit for established .tel domains
- Loss of existing .tel customers that are used to the old Telhosting platform
Will all of this be compensated by the advantage of having the possibility to build a website like any other?
Tel was easy, now it's more complex if you want to do anything, especially if it simulates the old system.
But we have all the software pre-developed to make a better community driven telhosting system? it just needs modding and a server or two setting up. ??
1. When will the restrictions be lifted from .tel and what will be my options then be for using my domain? All restrictions will be lifted from .tel on 13th March 2017. From this date, and subject to your registrar or reseller support, you will be able to use your .tel domain as a normal website, continue to take advantage of our free, new Telhosting platform or opt for a paid for Telhosting service which incorporates sub domains with a 3rd party hosting provider.
Which means we can change the name servers?Thats the only part that matters, so we can point the tel visits where ever we want and can render what ever content we wish.
Tel is currently pointed to:
a0.cth.dns.nic.tel
d0.cth.dns.nic.tel
n0.cth.dns.nic.tel
s0.cth.dns.nic.tel
t0.cth.dns.nic.tel
They manage and store copies of your records "your sub domains with the directory content information" that you added through telhosting.something.com
And https://d0.webproxy.nic.tel/ etc is where the above servers are told to send people to view your content per .tel domain or subdomain look up request. ??
A nameserver is an integral part of pointing your domain to a hosting provider. The most important thing to remember about a nameserver is that it is the engine that directs your DNS records. So setup a name server telcp.tel or ns.telcp.com etc,Setup web hosting.Set the tel domain to the telcp name server.Mod telcp or another telhosting control panel to make it inject DNS records into the name servers, for requests/records that match the tel domains pointed towards it of the customer in question.Either render the tel via the web hosting, or allow a customer to point the tel to their own "open source" proxy web hosting. And thats all tel is right? a control panel and a few servers and records.I'm happy to point tel domains to telcp or the other one mark has and pay a little more into a community pot if its worked on, and we can pay for themes and other fun stuff. You can say loss of profit but the business model just changed to one of providing advanced hosting services without having to be a registrar paying telnic?, it don't have to feature dns storage anymore but could do or be a simulated version.Or does the "you will be able to use your .tel domain as a normal website" mean we cant change the name servers but can set one record, that renders the tel on hosting provided by the registrar. ?
And the 3rd party means we can pick from a list of services but not change the name server to something we want. ?
