The daily .tel statistics

It is interesting, from what time we see false statistics. It may be that they began to do this not recently but a good lot of time ago.

In fact, resonable number of TELs, which fit as investment, is about some 3000 pcs. - one-word English keywords, two-letters and a bit of others. To keep for the row of years all the others like "san-diego-layers" and etc. for me looks like unwise waste of money.

So my personal version is that real number of registered TELs could be no more than some 20 - 30 thousands, Chinese IDN including. Also icluding those "san-diego-layers" and the like, of the people who are still not awaken and dream to sell them for big $$$.

Something is obviously wrong with the .tel statistics.

Every day a lot of .tel domains are dropping (see: http://teltalk.org/droplists ), but the total registration numbers are not moving at all: http://research.domaintools.com/statistics/tld-counts

Someone is faking these numbers. Who could have the power to manipulate these statistics?

It's clear that Telnames tries to keep the registrations above 100,000 for cosmetic reasons.

It could not be said that it is a fake.

All the four digit start from 10(10NN.tel) had been registered on 4th July

no 10NN.tel are left anymore.

Unfortunately, the number of dropping domains is higher - and this every single day!

Haha. Right on! It's like being tied to a post in the surf as the tied is coming in which will eventually result in the water being over your head. You celebrate the little flows out in the surf but the overall trend is bad!

It really doesn't help that Telnic/Telnames insist on telling the world - or at least those who use the popular total registration report at http://registrarstats.com/TLDDomainCounts.aspx - that ZERO .TELs are being registered every day !

We on this forum know this to be untrue, but WHY CAN'T TELNIC/TELNAMES GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER and ensure http://registrarstats.com/TLDDomainCounts.aspx is updated daily with the .TEL figures (as it used to be) ?

Telnic/Telnames read this forum - there is NO EXCUSE for such inaction on their part !

Telnic / Telnames have always tried to hide the disastrous statistics behind .tel.
Why should they change this right now, especially since their only ship is sinking even more?

The statistics have been deleted on teltalk.org, too.
Probably the webmaster doesn't like to watch the numbers declining every day.

Interesting to note that that 28.6% are IDN Domains, leaving 71.4% "Normal" Domains, on 6 August 2017 !

Do I understand it right: Telnames LTD need to pay to ICANN 18 cents for "reserving" 1 (one) TEL?

And then 1000 "reserved" domains will cost them 180 $, and 10 000 - 1800 $, and if, say, they would like to improve their statistics on additional 50 000 TELs then they need to pay 9000 $/year, and if for the whole 100 000 they need to pay only 18 000$?

Yesterday was a very special day for .tel:

The new registered .tel domains (27) outnumbered the dropped .tel domains (17).

Hopefully, Telnames will celebrate this rare event!

The number of registered .tel domains is a joke - nothing more!

What is the sense in discussing statistics of TELs when most of us think that they are the subject of manipulation from the registry?

My personal opinion is that the real number of TELs (not IDN), which currently are registered by real people, could be no more than some 5000 - 7000 pcs. All the rest are simply "painted" for having a nice picture by Mr  Cash and Co. That perfectly explains a little number of drops - few real users could not drop much, but they drop all that they can.

It is also very possible, that the total number of TEL-owners does not differ much from the number of users of this forum; and the total number of them could be not even few hundreds - TEL was so specific that all of them should be in the forum, and we know number of forum users - 385, cloned accounts including.
