    ...here's a company that would make an ideal buyer to run the .tel extension !

    And here's their New gTLD page.

    If I would be interested in acquiring Telnic, I would wait until Tel has only 50,000 registrations left and buy the company for cheap then.

    Obviously that’s the plan.
    Telnic has been dropped by the responsible people already. Perhaps Telnames targets to buy Telnic.
    I know it's a crazy idea. But is it crazier than the foundation of Telnames by Telnic?

    @Starfighter

    It would be pretty difficult for Telnames Ltd. to buy Telnic Ltd !

    The last time I checked there was only one shareholder listed for Telnames Ltd. - who held 100% of the equity - that shareholder was Telnic Ltd.

    As regular forum readers will be aware, Telnames and Telnic are ONE organisation with the same CEO, same CTO, same offices, mostly the same staff, etc.

    But they are TWO companies for accounting purposes to get round the restriction in the ICANN .tel agreement of the Registry (Telnic) not being allowed to also act as a Registrar (Telnames - technically a Reseller, but performing Registrar-type functions).

    But the individuals involved in Telnic and Telnames could either buy Telnic for themselves or establish a third company for the purpose of this acquisition, right?
    In this case it's the best to put all activities on hold until after this transaction. Isn't that what we are observing right now?

    Honestly, I don't know, but perhaps it's not as bad as it may seem.
    It can be that Telnic doesn't want to run two projects at the same time.
    Currently Telnic is focusing on Telnames and is waiting how it turns out.

    Better a market of 220.000 users worldwide or 10.200 users only in UK?
