@maxi - good point - the 300,000+ figure quoted is simply misleading now - anyone know how to get it corrected ?

Telnic announced in January 2011 that over 300,000 domains had been registered since the start of general availability on 24 March 2009.

In fact the 300,000+ quoted in Wikipedia for January 2011 was nearly 50K greater than the true figure of 250,550 according to http://www.hosterstats.com/DomainNameCounts2011.php !

2. Make necessary corrections in the text using "Edit" function of certain areas of an article. Do not comment - texts should be neutral.

4. At the very end of an article, in the section "External links" maybe it would be worth to put a link to http://www.hosterstats.com/DomainNameCounts2013.php

It's very easy: press the button "Edit" next to the search box on the top right. It seems you don't need to register.

Telnnic's "Communications Director" is indeed named Justin Hayward (c.f.: http://www.justin.tel , ironically). In light of this it's reasonable to assume he is the user Justinhayward and as such his edits clearly form a conflict of interest ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest ).

It's very easy: press the button "Edit" next to the search box on the top right. It seems you don't need to register.

Registered user is more reliable. Also, the registered user can participate in the internal discussion about the article and to ground the necessity of his corrections.

Why are there always conflicts every time when Justin Hayward is talking in public to other people?

Could it be him? Or .tel? Or both?

Guys, what purpose did the "truth" serve .TEL owners? This forum just infuriates instead of helping to promote.

What ! - I don't know of any successful business that hides from the "truth" - do you ?

Maybe if Telnic didn't insist on banning forum members who don't tow the party line from Telnic's own forum then everything could be thrashed out there in open dialog - but it's not the way Telnic choose to operate as you know !

With the greatest respect I recommend you have a ".tel reality check" - it took me a long while to realise the necessity of this and I know it can be a painful process - but the "truth" and facing reality in business is essential to long term survival.

So no more complaining by you please about people who believe in telling the truth in business - you should reserve any complaints for those who choose to mislead, deceive and lie !

For me that part looks not good:

Using bold letters are not fine. Meaning drop which occurred also looks like influenced by emotions.  Links to registrarstats and hosterstats are also is not in the right place.

The more neutral text - the more chances that these corrections would not be changes by admins there.

Maybe it would be enough only to correct the wrong numbers at the right part and to stop on this now.

Nothing runs well with .tel at the moment.
Mark is right that promotion for .tel is needed, but before promotion should be started the fundamental problems of .tel need to be eliminated.
Consequently Mike is right that transparency is necessary to make Telnic realize the business strategy needs to be adjusted urgently.
Honestly adjusting the Wikipedia article is not very objective, because the registration numbers aren't important for the characterization of a domain extension.
It's sad that Telnic doesn't let customers another way to communicate and reach the responsible people.
A public discussion with the participation of Telnic would be desirable.
Once we had the Telnic forum for this purpose, but it's not supported actively anymore.
