I think that is important to know that this appraisals are so poor because there are a lot of factors that this bots can't analize it. Are perfect to have an appreciation, but it's no real.

We need our own that looks at a core of .tel factors, rankings, current known sale prices, avg value, keyword, 'is a trademark', 'is block taken aka keyword in other tlds', 'pulls in real time traffic rankings etc from an embedded image' 'how many times keyword came up in Google trends', 'is in dmoz', 'what other tld of keyword sold for', takes a quarter of that? and comes up with a ball park figure of what someone should expect or at least some rank then lets us embed that in the 250x250 side box as an alpha background 'telstar' ranking pic.



The Telcp guy all ready does the 78x78 avatar icons with the visitor tracking I believe, he could expand that for us and that would be a service we could use to show off the quality of our .tel that links to a page with detailed stats, like http://klout.com rankings or http://blekko.com badges..

If he did it he'd get many back links which is why it's a good idea even if it's not completely accurate when it first gets going.

If someone is going to do that could you please let us choose the style of the image so we can have 'gears', 'star', 'globe', 'steering wheel', and color so they match our .tels themes.

Even non existent domains like silverio.tel or 1welz9.tel are evaluate $9.00!

This tool is focusing on the US market and gives reasonable indications mainly for .com.
But it's impossible to find a reliable tool for domain appraisals.

I was playing around with GoDaddy's Domain Value Estimator at https://uk.godaddy.com/domain-value-appraisal

I don't normally place much credence in such tools but was impressed when I asked it to value Tshirts.tel - see https://uk.godaddy.com/domain-value-appraisal/appraisal/?domainToCheck=tshirts.tel

GoDaddy's valuation came back at 885 USD which converts (using https://xe.com) to 632 GBP.

I actually sold Tshirts.tel a while ago (via Sedo) for 500 GBP - so a pretty good estimate by GoDaddy !

Good domain appraisal tools include former sales in the price estimation, because they collect these data form auction sites like Sedo.
This is one of the most important criteria for appraisal tools.
Mike's example shows that GoDaddy is doing a good job with it.
