...look to have potential to help educate buyers over a domain's real value (as far as you can measure such an intangible asset).

Thanks for sharing. Extremely relevant and useful information.

A note of caution when using Sedo's DVI re the field Regional Monthly Searches.

If the domain extension is NOT a Country Code, but a gTLD such as .TEL, then the figure given is for Exact Matches searched from within the USA.

See http://www.sedo.com/search/details.php4?version=3&domain=merseyside.tel and then click the "View Domain Value Indicators" link.

You will see that Global searches are 12,100 per month and Regional searches are just 880 per month.

But as this 880 figure is from within the USA, searches from the UK + other countries excluding USA will actually be 11,220 per month (i.e. 12,100 - 880).

Given that if you bought http://Merseyside.tel you would primarily be interested in searches from within the UK, the Global figure will be much nearer the UK figure than the potentially misleadingly labelled Regional one.

Because of this I tend to ignore the Regional search figure and focus on the Global one.
