£2 a month = £24 per year = approx $37 per year - nearly 4 times the annual cost of a .tel ! Unless this service can get "critical mass" by linking up to a major player I wouldn't worry too much about it - the key advantage that .tel has over all current competitors is the ability of 3rd parties to read Telnic's Open DNS and publicise your content Free Of Charge to you.
