Steve Jobs documentary & missed .tel opportunity Last night there was a documentary on Channel 4 in the UK about the legendary Steve Jobs who sadly died recently (see previous thread http://telnic.org/forum/showthread.php?t=2352). Huge numbers of people in the UK no doubt watched it - all of them would have had an interest in "cool" uses of technology. Imagine the targeted audience Telnic could have got for .tel by placing an advert just before the Steve Jobs documentary started - they didn't - BUT THIS COMPANY DID (to promote their easy-to-use web site builder) ! Just wondering why .tel keeps missing/ignoring golden opportunities to reach "Joe Public" ? Mike Seaton |
Is this a threat to .tel takeup by "Joe Public" ? If you were a professional or small business owner would you be tempted by http://mywebsite.1and1.co.uk at £4.99 + VAT per month (price includes domain) following a free 30-day trial ? It got huge publicity last night With so much competition reaching the streets now, we have very little time left before The Reality of .Tel becomes overpowering ! Mike Seaton |
1and1 is advertising here in Canada on TV too. So it's a global marketing effort. Telnic needs to target small business in the same manner. Are they waiting on the few of us to do it locally? Hope not. Besides, .tel can't go all out yet until at least the templates are available and there is registrar involvement with a contest. Mark |
