Bitcoins the new global internet cash? Have you got any bitcoins? This is a article from one of the piratebay founders. Why I’m Putting All My Savings Into Bitcoin http://falkvinge.net/2011/05/29/why-...-into-bitcoin/ The short answer is. Bitcoins is a new, type of currency never before seen. There are no single country behind the currency. Its "owned" by the users. Its a Peer 2 peer crypto currency. That allows anyone to trade across the world in seconds without any banks. Its not as he says completly anonymous but it makes it easier to trade anonymous over the world. Since last year it has increased a thousand fold in value! And he believes it will increase yet a thousand fold. When he wrote the article around 1.5 weeks ago it was at $8 now its around $30. I have been studying bitcoins last two weeks. Here are some interesting posts from the bitcoin forum. However its now june 9th and its allready at $31. And still far from generally accepted or very known. Quote:
And he is probably right but thats one huge if. Ofcourse at this time its a risky investment since it can get banned, could fail and there could come another crypto currency. But it could also be a once in a lifetime thing. Like being able to invest in google the early days. Though its likely that the more bitcoins get established the less likley for another cryptocurrency to take over? And even if it got banned it would probably continue as a blackmarket currency though it would affect the value. However its not completly anonymous. One of the best bitcoin features on TV in which one of the coders says they are speaking with the US government about those things. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504943_1...-10391715.html A map of some? of the bitcoin nodes. Its all over the world, quite interesting to watch the map grow every day, dont miss to zoom in. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=https:...ts/bitcoin.kml However, dont invest your life savings into it! Who knows what will happen. Everyone could panik. But it sure will be very interesting to follow. And yes, I´m ofcourse on the trend. |
