The future of domaining and domain selling

    .
    .
In future, domaining and domain selling will be probably more successful for domainers, during public events, live auctions, live sales, social networking (twitter, etc.).

    Just a few hints:

eBay = non go. A waste of time. Mostely.
TRAFFIC = very, very good. Everything goes speedy. Good profits.
DOMAINfest = very, very good. Everything goes speedy. Good profits.
interNEXT = perfect for selling erotic-, sex-, and fetish domains: It is quasi the one and only place, but always good.
Twitter = "quasi sold at last"...
Forums = yes: they are good for selling.
Blogs = I am not sure... but possibly in the long term, the NEW THING, as it is personal, and you can build up a relationship with the seller. Confidence and trust, etc. (maybe even feedback rating options, etc,)
Adverts = "takes time"..., to get found, etc.
Sedo = need a lot of luck, and patience. But then: " Bingo", if sell!
Word by mouth = yes: this can be good, too.
    - Other= can be great, or can be not so great.
    - Other.

And so on. Etc., etc. ...

    Errr...: Just another thought:

If there would be quasi such a thing as a circle: Where only domains and money get exchanged, and that they stay within the circle: I am not sure yet, what that would mean. But I guess it could be good for economy.
Another thought: One step further: If the money system fails totaly (well, in fact, it has already failed, if you will, and if you are honest), and if you would replace money with "car supplies", "wind power system supplies", "all sorts of DIY supplies", "healthy food", "land", "houses", "vehicles", "boats and ships, and yachts", "cloths", "designer stuff", "jewelry", "gem stones", "real estate whatever", "apartments", "tickets", "holidays", "travels", "tours", "wine", "adged cigars", "services", and that you would exchange domains for that, and that for domains.
Or if domains just become part of the whole trade and exchange "spirit", without paper money, or digital money?

It is just, that money, wont be the biggest thing, we will use anymore to do business: We will just swap and exchange other things, and use money, as less as we can, and avoid money, whenever we can, because money only brings criminality, war, hunger, debt, and a whole load of other problems, as a side effect of trade.

So, if all people would not use any money, we would have a better world.

If money has no value, than the Internet domain still has.

If money does not have much value, or if it is constantly loosing its value, than you should not value a domain with money, because a domain is quasi a constant value, if you will. Or at least more constant, than money.

That might be a sort of explanation, why some domains, get very high offers. Because on one hand, you have the valuation of money, and on the other hand, you have the valation of a domain, regardless, about what the money market is doing at the moment. You try to match both worlds together: You get a price for a domain.

And so, for example, $40'000 might not be a that high price for a domain, after all. Don't get blinded by Dollars.

I am seriously asking my self, if the domain market is not the most important market of all markets. This, only because of the growing importance of the Internet.
So: some people sleeping out there, but sure some people are not sleeping, and are preparing for the next trends and technolgies, that will be here, very soon, and in use.

Back to the basic thoughts about domaining:
Message: Mix under the domainers. Go to all sorts of events, and live auctions. Read loads of domaining news, daily. Keep up to date with the domain news.

    Other advice and comments:
Don't let WIPO kill you: Just learn the rules, and that you do not have much power, as a small business, and that you will mostly loose domain disputes. "Confusingly similar names" should possibly be avoided. Because domain disputs are mostly a waste of time.
Get a trade mark, if you want to be sure to have peace.

    Conclusion from the comments:
The less time you waste, the more time you have to create good domain names, and to sell domains.
As you can't fight a domain disput, and sell domains at the same time. Well, it would just kill you, at the end.
Domain disputs can nearly ruin your business, but sometimes, you got to defend your good name, from a "unfriendly takeover".

    .
Maybe it is good, to leave out "Moniker", or at least "SnapNames", till "SnapNames" has sorted out its fraud scandal.

But I think it would be better for SnapNames, to quasi resign from the domaining scene.

Why are they still in business??? It is not clean. It is not transparent. Same fraudsters still working there, except "Nelson".

However, I hope ther will be a solution, and that other fraud auction bidding gets uncovered, specially at Sedo, which has the greatest potential for insider bidding / shill bidding and domain auction fraud.
