Hi USF, Welcome to the forum - there's a few universities you might like to contact regarding http://USF.tel - more info athttp://www.acronymfinder.com/USF.html TLAs (Three Letter Acronyms) go for big bucks as a DotCom - it's only a matter of time before TLA DotTels get recognised for their potential as well. thanks for the tip! Big bucks means.. in what range? |

Have a look at http://www.dnjournal.com/archive/dom...les-charts.htm and http://www.dnjournal.com/ytd-sales-charts.htm to see some prices that have been achieved for 2,3 and 4 letter DotCom acronyms. Examples of recent sales: IPO.com - 500,000 USD - 29 September 2010 CGM.com - 365,000 - 16 June 2010 MEC.com - 99,000 USD - 7 April 2010 TRT.com - 45,000 USD - 26 January 2011 ZUM.com - 28,000 USD - 16 February 2011 I have purchased quite a few 3-letter DotTel acronyms myself and have them for sale at http://www.domains123.com/names.asp?cat=Acronyms - time will tell whether they reach the stratospheric heights their DotCom equivalents have - even just 10% of the DotCom value would make the DotTels a very worthwhile investment! there is a big diff between two tlds, I think the OP should sell it to what he thinks is the better price (if he wants to sell it) or he may wait more time..but just comparing 3 letter .com with 3 letter .tel is not really good idea (at least as of today). |

Dottel - successful domain investors see opportunities where others can't and buy before prices rise - even if a 3-letter .tel acronym only ever went to just 1% of .com prices it would still represent a huge return on investment for a domain that is often available for just $10 registration fee. Has anyone sold a 3 letter .tel for good bucks? |
Telnic has sold a lot of little one's for big bucks:) |
again big bucks means? in the range of 1000$ |

The problem here is not many reputed/successful/established domainers promoting .tel extensions (at least not visible in the news/major domain forums).. coming to profit margin, well it depends on individuals as one might do business when they get a $1 more and others would not even bother for anything less than $$$ or $$$$. The thread is about a .tel sale and my recommendation to the OP is to be practical rather than relying on .com sale prices (if he wants to sell).. |
lol.. the thread is going out of the topic in hand! |
USF.tel value unfortunately is valued at around $10.00 USD. I have many generic geo names, generic doctor and pharmacist names and they are worth very low $100. USD or less. Further promotion and success will bring the .tel values up, right now there are many sellers selling generic terms for $10 to $20 dollars. If a direct dial .tel is made available for phones or any other huge development prices will skyrocket. You are able to dial .tel names on some obscure providers, but a mass market iphone or andoid direct free dial of dottel domain names would be a major advance and a huge boost in demand and pricing. Also the Yellow Page directories around the world are just beginning to implement .tel, when this matures, and if the public catches on- then pricing will surely improve as well. Kind regards- |

Totally agree - direct dial of phone numbers using the alpha .tel name is the single most important development that could happen to .tels and would increase resale prices (and registrations) of .tel domains dramatically - see threadhttp://telnic.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1888 Mike Seaton |
University of San Francisco University of South Florida I'd say hang on to it, or market to the schools above showing them something like Griz.tel (mascot for the University of Montana is the Grizzly Bear). Schools are spending lots of money for a mobile app that provides similar services, (University of Texas), when they could spend less money (but more than $10) and purchase USF.tel from you that would be a stronger marketing tool. Isn't it funny that standing out in the crowd attracts attention but so few are willing to take that chance and instead would rather chase bananas. |
well I think I will be keeping it with me! if any one has a real deal contact me dmkreation[at]gmail[dot]com |
