There's your answer for Jens, selling and getting therapy from .TEL insanity ... ... if it works I want to know .... ;) |
A few excellent examples from a very quick look at the list - http://Forex.tel, http://Taxis.tel, http://Florists.tel, http://Pizzas.tel,http://NYC.tel. Mike Seaton |
@mikeseaton Good picks. Although all of my domains are listed for sale, I would take them all off the market were one to sell, or a significant development to occur. |

Interesting to note that Andy has now priced the domains I mentioned. If .tel manages to achieve "critical mass" - and "Joe Public" buys into the concept - these prices may well seem a bit of a bargain in a few years time ! I wonder what Forex.tel would be worth to a foreign exchange company (probably making millions a year in profit) who wanted to dominate the foreign exchange market worldwide ? Glad I registered FX.tel ! Mike Seaton |
Fx I like. On a similar reason I picked up qr Although the future of tel in my eyes is looking a bit darker. Yesterday I noticed a global registrar based in France who fully supported .tel, developed an email integration for tel purchasers and bundled VoIP into the package who holds many many premium .tels has a place holder on the home page and has transferred the tels( I checked ) over to a different registrar. I guess they have mothballed operations. Does anyone have any info? I was hoping they would set the pace for other registrars to follow..... |

Simon, Do you have the name of the French registrar or their URL ? If they have quit it's important for .tel's credibility that they are no longer listed on http://telnic.org/get-started-buy.html Mike Seaton |
They don't seem to be on that list. Unless they were a re seller Checked the rest of the website from google and it's resolving so just the index page at present. Strange Just to clarify I suspect operations have been mothballed due to the two reasons stated Above but don't know for as may be another explanation. Was interested to know if anyone ( perhaps a customer) had heard anything. If so feel free to pm |

Well, Forex.tel is at auction - bidding starts at $1 so go for it :) |

Good luck with the auction for Forex.tel - though I think that maximum value for a domain like that, and my own FX.tel, will only be achieved with an end-user sale. I will watch with interest the closing bid value - it's a hugely attractive very commercial domain name ! Mike Seaton |
The more bidders participate the more interest it will attract - why would you "watch with interest" when you can jump in? I set the starting bid low for that reason |

Simple really, I buy low and sell high with domain names, I won't be able to do that with this auction, given that you have set a reserve price which I imagine is at least 1000 USD, probably more, if you want to ensure you're not giving it away ! Mike Seaton |
Who knows? |

@maximka The reserve (secret) acts to get people bidding early on, rather than waiting to strike at the last minute. I believe auctions with a low starting price tend to do better because they attract more participation. It's psychological - once you've bid you feel like you have a stake, and bidders attract other bidders. |
