SwineFlu.tel your thoughts! I started developing SwineFlu.tel about 2 months ago and left it for a while, however the pandemic is now in the UK & US news almost everyday! People are getting scared and the airlines are stopping anyone they suspect with flu from traveling abroad from the UK. Any advice on how I could get listings? advice on marketing? Who should I target specifically in the UK & US. What would you do if you owned Swineflu.tel? We are being warned the swine flu pandemic will last at leat 5 years! Also KPMG has just released an estimate report of the impact on the UK's GDP over 1 to yrs of the pandemic. They reckon it will lower GDP by 7.5% on Sky News today!! They claim that would certainly lead to a depression if Swine Flu infects 100,000 people a day. The estimates suggest a daily death rate of 500 per day in the UK. I'm not sure what the estimates are in the US just yet, except Obama is pumping in $1.8 Billion. So the point is, how can I make this really work?? Cheers Robert.:) |
I would have three folders: News - Have website links to all news articles listed in order of date. Epidemic Breakdown - Point to a graph showing number data in each country of the world. What is Swine Flu - Write some content in your .TEL and link to web pages that explain Swine Flu. Swine Flu Prevention Tips - Write some content in your .TEL and link to web pages that explain Swine Flu prevention tips. That is just what I would do. Maintaining this domain might be some work but you would want to push it high on the search engines to get a crowd. |
Examples of flu-related sites: http://grippeporcine.tel/ - French-speaking compact site with essential info http://flu.tel/ - a link hub with lots of info |

Also www.germ.tel which allows visitors to add new information themselves. Mark[/size] |
You could also group by region, providing the emergency swine flu contact number for each country within. Once you have such information populated it may also be worth contacting news agencies to see if they would list the url next to stories they run on Swine Flu. |
Hi All. That would be great idea, My girlfriend is now recovering from swine flu and has been very very ill and off work for 2 weeks now. Had to travel 20 miles to the nearset pickup point for the tablets. Thank goodness neither me or my 2 children have picked up the awful bug. Regards Gav |
