general availabilty of 2 letters and numeric from telnic press release: LONDON, United Kingdom – Monday 13th June, 2011 – Telnic Limited (http://telnic.tel), the Registry Operator for the .tel top level domain (TLD), today announced that the General Availability registration period for short (two-character) and numeric-only .tel names will commence tomorrow at 3 p.m. BST. from name.com's pre-order site: 8am MDT (14:00 UTC) on Tuesday June 14th ------------------ Are these two times = the SAME THING??? Sorry for being a dumb-ass im just trying to hand-reg, and save some dollars. name.com wasted my cash last time. |
yes indeed they are the same thing. In the UK it's currently British Summer Time (BST), which is GMT+1 so same as 2pm UTC wow - trying saying that fast 3 times!!! |
thank you. much appreciated. unsuspecting regger's for your information.... name.com's pre-rego tool is incorrectly accepting orders??? for example: 1-800.tel is already taken. shown here: Domain Name 1-800.TEL Domain ID D2565548-TEL Sponsoring Registrar SPOT DOMAIN LLC Sponsoring Registrar IANA ID 466 Registrar URL (registration services) whois.domainsite.com Domain Status pendingCreate hmmmm. scratches head |
hope you all got the names you were after.... |
Looks like I got 8 out of 9. Got beat out on 300.tel, not bad. Mark |
nice - i got 10 out of 11. lost out on hq.tel |
Picked up 321 (lost 365) as well as M3, M5, X3, X5, Z4 all from Name.com pre-regs. Mike Seaton |
they are going fast - only 8 left on my 'to watch list'.... at least tmrws reg count will be a nice number |

you're building some portfolio.... Kash should buy you a beer (scratch that - make it champagne!) |
I like 2-digital,but all gone after 3 minutes |

just curious - some speculative buys I was considering if i bought everything i watched, i'd be broke ;) |
i do also believe this was a missed opportunity to actually go to a large company and give them a premium 2 letter tel in return for actually using & marketing it - would have been worth more to the .tel cause then the few dollars in reg fees |

Well let's hope that is why YP.tel and ON.tel are reserved. Mark |
xx.tel stats Currently out of the 1044 allowable xx.tel combinations (letters and numbers), 635 have been acquired including all alpha pairs. That's about 61%. Of the 1,000 3-digits numbers 000-999, 156 taken. Will have an update after 24 hours. Mark |
We got 8 out of 12 - mainly 2ltr tels. So, by looking at the regs WHOIS, most of the registrants look like familiar names from this forum.:D |

They'll probably end up doing the right thing and release them to us as the rightful registrants. :) |

Not so, I did my homework before posting. Here's the math ... The actual number of xx combinations is 36*36 = 1,296. Remove the 248 ISO codes plus YP,ON and for some reason BQ,BL that leaves 1044available for the world to buy. Mark |

YP yes, but for ON, I'd like Telnic to create the "ON TEL" app as I mentioned a couple of days ago. Mark |

Yes, that is a wonderful use of on.tel ! |
I got 4 out 10 by name.com pre-register. I have to keep the refund at my account. |
