my two pence ... .. In a perfect world, I would simply like to provide my .tel and choose password, on forums such as these (espcially this one), as the entire signup process. The system should then be able to draw my details from the DNS or SRS as required. |
Perhaps the way forward is to provide OpenId support for .tels. http://openid.net/2008/10/30/microso...penid-support/ |
Openid Excellent thread Adrian. Yes this is something Telnic should work very hard at doing since each .TEL really represents an entity whether it be a person or a business. Using your .TEL to log into systems would be ideal. This raises the question, how secure is the secure side of .TEL's. Can it be hacked? If dot tel's stored usernames and passwords, mastercard numbers etc in the hidden sections of the DNS how secure is this? Is it possible? |

Apart from the security of .tel private data, which is multi-level and highly advanced, there's the question of accessing that data and storing login credentials securely. We were recently contacted by somebody who lost his phone which had his login details to TelHosting. Imagine your frustration if you were in their place, and your .tel had your credit card number and all important passcodes stored there. The more convenient services that require a login you use, the less secure your .tel data is - and not because the data itself is not protected. We advise against storing any crucial info in your .tel, such as credit card numbers and codes.[/size] |
Hello, i have not understood very well what this post is about, but i came to know it involves something to do with CC or other Financial Related issues. i know you must be aware how scams are these days, i would personally not advise anyone to enter their credit card numbers into anything apart from paypal that also noting the SSL seal below, .tel is a way to communicate, Link with a company or directory and as .telnic are adding loads of more stuff to make it spicy and full of life i think its more then enough then adding other critical Financial information to it. i might be wrong but i hope you all agree with me just want the best for everyone thats all Shahid |
