    Querys?

    Tel Query

Everyone knows SQL & phpmyadmin, and we have the import and export for large chunks of data, why not give us a query/queries that we can run? as part of the control panel to speed up data entry. You could create a pseudo "new" type of query's based on SQL but aimed at updating text records.

This would then help people migrate to outside scripts, when they understand and can test with the quick query version.

And of course would flag errors just like phpmyadmin does. And if you're going down that path you could commission and sell TelQ for dummies as your all ready selling 4+ books on the main site.

I think this would benefit people who don't want to trawl though records & understand this stuff and need a quick way to sort something.

Thanks for your confidence in me Bunjie, however when it comes to SQL etc I have no idea!

Interesting concept, although 99% of people don't know about SQL. What you are saying is allow the CTH (or whatever) to be treated like a database. So one could do queries, updates, inserts and deletes using SQL-link syntax. All under OpenAuth control of course.

select * from CTH where domain_name='bunjie.tel' and record_type='web_link'

delete from CTH where domain_name='bunjie.tel' and record_type='tel_ad' and position=3

insert into CTH (domain_name,record_type,naptr_label,naptr_link,na ptr_order) values
    ('abc.bunjie.tel','web_link','visit bunjie','www.bunjie.com',100)

update CTH set naptr_link='www.bunjies.tel' where naptr_link='bunjie.com'

Doubt Telnic would ever provide this, but sure is interesting especially for bulk operations.
