Active domain? When we register a domain the domain registrar puts in 2 contact links so it's an Active domain, if I was to remove all links I know it wont show up through the proxy right? If I do this to hide the domain until I'm ready to use it & update it would it breach .tel tos? And could I loose that domain? Or can I do that and it would be fine for a few years? I know that if a domain is not linked too, it's unlikely to be seen at all but technically any domain I buy automatically shows up in that tel search you have. It probably would also be nice to opt out of being in that search until we have enough content on such a domain. Or does that search only add domains with some content? over a %? |
Hi Bunjie, To respond to your points: Quote:
How and if a .tel is prepopulated varies by registrar- some place a single link, while other add more content. Some do not add any content, so that .tel does not become active until the owner themselves do so. A .tel will not become active until a public contact record is added to it. Once a .tel has been activated will likely still resolve even if the record is then deleted. Quote:
Yes, It is a part of the .tel AUP (http://www.telnic.org/policies.html), that every .tel has at least one public contact record. You can indicate to visitors that the site is under construction and provide a link back to that .tel domain as the public record in order to comply with the AUP. Quote:
Section 5 of the AUP relates to those steps that can be taken to enforce its requirements. Quote:
With regards to TelPages, every active .tel with at least 1 active contact record is indexed and displayed. If you don’t link to folders/subdomains that exist in a .tel then these will not be indexed irrespective of content, so you can build content on these before they are indexed. Hope this helps, Aled |
