    BoatFinder.tel no longer displays

My populated domain http://boatfinder.tel - no longer displays anything, at least from the UK, in either the desktop or mobile proxy.

It's expiry date is June 2012 so there's no issue there - but all you get is "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".

Can some forum members please see if they also get this message when accessing http://boatfinder.tel

Telnic - can you please investigate this failure as a matter of urgency - I don't want to lose this multi-page site, which feeds free traffic tohttp://www.BoatSearchWorldwide.com, from the search engines.

    Thanks.

    Mike Seaton

OK, so it's not just me. Your site wont display but some of mine wouldn't earlier today either. Thought it was my ISP.

Thank you for alerting us. Please do let us know specific domains that are not resolving or if they do resolve again.

Mike this appears to be a transfer- related issue. We will follow up with you and Name.com directly. It is not an issue with any updates made today.

Its not working in Holland on my mobile!

    Hi Justin,

Thanks for your prompt response, but I don't understand the comment about it being a "transfer-related issue".

http://boatfinder.tel has not been transferred - it was registered by me at Name.com on 26 June 2009 and has been displaying without any problem since then until today.

I have emailed support@name.com about the problem and have copied you in on it - hopefully this issue can be resolved quickly beforehttp://boatfinder.tel ends up being de-indexed by the search engines.

    Thanks, Mike Seaton

    PS. @MarkKolb, @DutchStreetDog - thanks for checking http://boatfinder.tel in your countries.[/size]

Thanks Justin, I have emailed Name.com with the contents of your engineers report and copied you in on it.

Thanks for the response on this thread - http://BoatFinder.tel is now back in business driving Free Traffic to my sitehttp://www.BoatSearchWorldwide.com

It seems that Name.com, for a reason they are still investigating, moved http://BoatFinder.tel out of my Name.com CTH around 29 July, hence the problem.

Good job I had taken a backup of the http://BoatFinder.tel data !

Glad it's back, and you had a backup. How many of us haven't backed up our .tels in ages, I for one will make an effort to do so more regularly. Could be an opening for a cloud backup tool Mark or do you have one already?

Beyond my abilities. I do the odd backup manually via CTH. Now a reason to do more often.

Glad its sorted Mike. From a cloud perspective, it might be something like Dropbox that might be useful, but in all honesty, I would keep a backup on a hard drive to hand; in the UK, you can get around 1 Terabyte of storage for less than $100 from Maplin and that's significantly more than you'll need for 100 .tel domains.

    dialaroom08-19-2011 08:07 AM

Backed all mine up to Dropbox and external hard drive, now who's becoming paranoid. Free dropbox account is perfect, I can restore all my .tels on the move anywhere with a phone signal.

If you don't have a dropbox account, I'm sure one of the forum members will send a referal, that way they get extra storage free. Let us know and we can share it around. Perhaps give Mark first refusal as he's flagged this up for us.
