This Is My Final Post... ...until Lock-Down on this Forum is removed, as repeatedly requested by myself and others athttp://telnic.org/forum/showthread.php?t=2746 ! .Tel needs every ounce of publicity it can get - to continue with Lock-Down which removes .tel links (in posts and signatures) from search engines is an absolutely crazy way to promote a new concept ! Mike Seaton |
Right on Telnic is doing everything to ruin this concept. They lost so many supporters it's unreal If I had enough money I would buy this company and fire everybody |
Mike, it would be a big loss if you as the most active forum member won't continue writing. Also we would lose an expert with the most valuable input for all .tel domain owners! May I invite you to join the new forum TelTalk.org as the only English active & public forum for .tel domains instead? |
Mike you are one of the great advocates of this domain and our posts are always worth reading - even if I don't always agree!. Does Telnic not see the irony of a company dedicated to communications and an open web starting to behave like a paranoid dictator by closing off a forum and not talking to its most loyal supporters. So coming from the place that gave the word boycott to the English language I too in support of Mike will not be posting any further until the lockdown is removed and Telnic starts treating us with some respect. |

Appreciate you stance, however Aled said public communication will be through Newsletter, so will wait for June Newsletter before deciding where I stand. Email me at steve@dialaroom.tel if you have any news you wish to share. |
fyi - regarding link juice in search engines from signature links - last few google updates have dimished significantly the value of these. even to the point some get you penalised for attempting to generate inappropriate backlinks from sites not connected with your sites topic. not sure how other search engines view this. there's still obvious value from folks clicking through and finding your site, but not so much search engine link juice anymore. |
Mike you are one of the most value member of this forum, I suggest to wait until the next newsletter as dialroom said, you most of the time write good contest in this forum, there is about 10 members that if they decide to go away, telnic has to close down this forum. Most of the time I do not participate but I always read all the post every day. Regards http://supercyberheroes.tel |

Yep bit worrying isnt it. Quote:
Newsletters are starting to go like the roadmap. They dont mean much perhaps they will start going to an annual newsletter this would at least limit the amount of tat. |
Man-up you lot! The Forum was closed to non-members because many of the comments on it - pointless speculation and naked self interest - were detrimental to the launch of Telnames. I've no idea what Telnames strategy is, but it is their strategy, so let them get on with it. Meanwhile.....back to work! |

Sound advice blunderer, and I will man up and get on with it. Truth be told tho. I don't care about back links from a posting or other such aspects of the forum, I can understand the lock down also. However I'm might pi$$ed that the templates keep getting postponed a little longer, likewise the search issue: while telnames gets a new template that's not offered by telnic. I'm happy with what I got when I bought a .tel initially but why tell us there are templates and updates coming then not deliver. Better to have said nothing and surprise than to promise the world and fail to deliver. |
@ Simon G, Nobody (your potential customers and their potential customers) cares about the templates (they won't even have heard of .tel until you tell them) or backgrounds. It's the text display on a mobile that impresses and sells .tel, combined with someone else populating it for them - for a reasonable price. People like to do what they do, not fiddle about with web/.tel sites. I don't see any mass take up of Telnames by non professional SMEs any time soon. Bigger organisations pay IT specialists to "DO" IT, and then spend fortunes on websites by way of justification. The ability to add images, video and add codes through the CTH's would be useful, but not essential at present. I agree it would have been better to have said nothing about the arrival date for new templates. Fortunately, nothing is what is being said now. |
