There's actually an alternative implementation by Jepaa (in Beta now). - http://www.jepaa.com/stuff/gDNS.phps - doing a DNS lookup with PHP - http://www.jepaa.com/stuff/contact_d...tel&showSource - rendering results on HTML page; with a map! |
How can add the weather to the .tel domain? Quote:
how can add the weather from yahoo or others in my .tel domain |

You can build a custom application that would read data from Yahoo! weather and add data to your .tel as a text header, keywords, or a web link back to the RSS feed. Comprehensive documentation about Yahoo! API is at http://developer.yahoo.com/weather/, while documents and samples on managing .tel programmatically at our developer website http://dev.telnic.org/. We have a wide range of code and tips that you can re-use, and a small developer forum where you can ask technical questions. If you don't have the necessary technical background, you are welcome to post and ask for developer help. |
About jeppa integration tool Quote:
Hello: I tried the jeppa integration tool but I noticed that it includes only direct contact information, but it doesn't allow to access contact information stored on subfolders. Is there a way to do it using the jeppa tool? Thank you! |
Hi Dietusche, I'll pass your request on to the jeppa tool owners. From what I understand, it only gets data in the current domain. To get all contact details from all sub-domains of a domain, you'll probably need to do a recursive lookup to construct the domain tree and then query each domain in turn for its contact data. For an example of a recursive lookup, see the perl script at http://dev.telnic.org/trac/browser/a...kup/recurse.pl |
Hello dietusche, Here the right link for the Script sources: http://www.jepaa.com/stuff/contact_d...l&showSource=1 You like to have all date of .Tel domain on one Page? also with in the Subdomains? Or only the Data of one Subdomain? For this you can to this: http://www.jepaa.com/stuff/contact_d...tter.jepaa.tel But this script is only an example how it could be used. Tel integration into .com site Hello GreenRover: Thanks for your answer. I'd like to publish the whole structure of the .tel domain. For example: acupuncturists.tel lists every State of US. I'd like to show these States' links when accessing a com site, but the jeppa tool 'filters' the information showing only the direct contact data. It would be useful when feeding a .com business directory from a .tel domain. Thank you! |
@dietusche sorry, but i have no idea what you try to do. For clicken throug the subdomains you have it on the xxx.tel for what you need the subdomains on the "normal" webside? Please explain what you are loking for / try to do. |
What I exactly wanna do Hello GreeRover: I bought some .tel domains to build commercial directories. I guess it is possible that when .tel domains become more popular, people will go to the source (.tel sites) to find information about a determined theme. i.e to find what doctor is near the directory's user. But in the meantime I think is a good idea to build .com commercial directories with .tel functionalities. So, the jeppa tool could greatly help in this purpose. Lets have an example: In the case of bookstores, I could buy bookstores.tel and bookstores.com. I would build the whole .tel directory. i.e Bookstores of New York, Bookstores of Nebraska, etc. In the case of New York I could list i.e 1200 Bookstores. I'd list every Bookstore in a separate folder (subdomain when using .tel) to show its phone numbers, address, etc, so, I'd have 1200 subfolders. But when using the jeppa tool, the system only shows the main contact data but not the contact data of every subfolder. I'd like to use the jeppa tool to show every subfolder and navigate on the .tel structure but using a .com domain. I really appreciate your help. Regards! Quote:

Telfeeder Hello, I just wanted to pass on my experience with the Telfeeder tool to load your .tel. I followed the template instructions and built my 533 line spreadsheet. I uploaded it and the resulsts came back in 3 minutes with the errors. After a few typo corrections and remembering the telnic structure of putting a (-) between names, I tried it again and 5 minutes later I had my dottel loaded with 500 entries. it was AMAZING. Thanks to Sid over at Telfeeder. Joe |
Tutorial Hello: I wanna know if there is a step by step tutorial or maybe a video tutorial for this. My technical skills are not relevant but I think that this function is interesting and should be explained with more details. Thank you. Regards. Quote:

Hi, Re contact us tool: there's a bit of Perl work and server setup. Download the ZIP with the scripts and you'll get the README with instructions. Alternatively, follow the steps at the dev site, http://dev.telnic.org/pages/php/contact-us.html I'm not sure the setup process is very visual, so am not sure about the tutorial. This tool is primarily for webmasters, so we hope the docs provide enough detail for the target audience. However, we're always open to ideas, so please share any ideas you have on how we can help improve this tool. |
