There's gold in them drops.... DON'T MISS OUT!

dottel.net is happy to announce the launch of its new & improved daily drop list & tracker service:

    Buy a Tel

    You can now:
    1. See how many tel domains are currently in the 'drop cycle'
    2. Search tel's in the drop cycle and recently dropped & available names
    3. Directly register a drop with name.com
    4. Backorder a dropping name
    5. Check if a name is available on other extensions

What are you waiting for? Get in there and grab that drop before someone else does....

    Mark Kolb (Kprobe)06-02-2011 06:12 PM

    Very nice layout.

    can06-02-2011 10:10 PM

Today I backorder one .tel on name.com,
    but fail,they send me email:

    Dear xxx
The bad news? Guess you've got good taste in domains because someone else beat us to the following names and we were not able to get them for you:

    (xxx).tel

Thanks for using the Name.com Domain Nabber Service.

    Sincerely,

    Support
    name.com

    dottel.net06-02-2011 10:25 PM

am sure there's many people watching the drops so you need to get in quick.

thank you - goal was to try and making it clean and simple

    can06-02-2011 10:28 PM

I think the worst backorder site is domainmonster.com.
Last year I competed with them using my home computer and I win every .tel.
Today I competed with name.com but none of us win.

    dottel.net06-02-2011 10:39 PM

if you're interested in a custom backordering service, pm the names you want and we can discuss a no win no pay price for them.

OK, I'm a bit embarrassed here - how do I scroll forward to the new page of results after apllying a filter and viewing the first page returned?

if there is another page of results, there will be a next and previous link at the top right hand corner of the table.

let me know if you still can't find it along with the search term your using. if you don't want to publish your search pm me.

I'm not seeing any arrows anywhere. First page of results only ever shows....(as viewed on iPad anyway)

    kiwihiker06-03-2011 01:14 AM

Yeah, same for me (on a laptop). What type of control are the next/previous links (in case I need some scripting or ActiveX enabled that I may have turned off at present)

    boracay.tel06-03-2011 01:24 AM

I'm going it alone at trigger time. Name.com was a major (throw cash to the wind) letdown during landrush. Am assuming the namegrabber engine the same

the previous and next are simple href hyperlinks (no ajax or javascript).
which browser are you using? i've tested on chrome, firefox and ie7 & 8

and you haven't done a search? its just the default results page that does no paginate for you?

can you pls pm a screenshot. i don't have an ipad to test unfortunately so hoping you can assist me in troubleshooting this.

    dottel.net06-03-2011 07:37 AM

as one more test - here's the actual paging link:

    http://buyatel.com/?pageddisplay=1&c...s=&droppingin=
    and then try
    http://buyatel.com/?pageddisplay=2&c...s=&droppingin=

to see if it does actually paginate for you on an ipad

    dottel.net06-03-2011 12:46 PM

thanks to a couple of people who suggested the tool should by default show todays dropping tel's

this has now been changed, so when you visit http://buyatel.com you'll be presented with todays drop.
if you want to see tmrw's, yesterdays, etc just use the drop downs!

don't miss out on the great drop fest, just directly click through to register the name with name.com

please continue sending me your feedback!

    enjoy!

    tel4rent06-03-2011 01:32 PM

    hi dottel,

thanks - appreciate the kind words!

    dottel.net06-04-2011 07:00 AM

    small but widely requested enhancement....

the pagination links are now also at the bottom of the list of drops (saves having to scroll to the top again in order to paginate). keep those improvement requests coming:
    http://BuyaTel.com

Hope you all managed to grab some great drops? I know i did

    dottel.net06-05-2011 08:30 AM

some absolute fantastic names were picked up yesterday. thanks for the messages of support for the tool, glad you found it useful, easy to use and clean.

don't miss out - there's still plenty of gold left, use http://buyatel.com to search and pick up that fantastic drop today....

Hi - can you send me some details on the browser you are using?
There is a difference between the top and bottom pagination links (they use different parent html containers). I can switch both to use the same container but want to just investigate the cause first.

    dottel.net06-07-2011 11:15 AM

There's still plenty of tel domains that dropped yesterday and are still available to register:

Click here to see yesterdays dropped names

    dottel.net06-07-2011 01:35 PM

quick qn - would the community find it useful to keep the last x days worth of drops searchable?

right now, all drops that enter the system are kept and searchable. just trying to find the right balance with keeping the drops 'current' vs clearing out domains that dropped over a week ago and weren't picked up....

    dottel.net06-08-2011 09:36 AM

did you know you can now add you aftermarket tel domains to http://buyatel.com

this way if a user searches the drops, etc for a name that matches a domain you would like to sell it will appear at the top of the page and allow the user to either make you an offer or pay for it directly via your paypal account.

to see it in action go to http://buyatel.com
now enter invegas in the top search box and hit search....

    dottel.net06-09-2011 06:48 AM

wow - we've just crept over the 30k domain mark in the 'drop system'. this includes recently dropped names, we'll be moving names dropped for over 5 days into a seperate area soon.

there must be at least 1 name you always wanted in that 30k, what are you waiting for? try a quick and easy search here: i always wanted to buy that domain name! - you never know!

thanks for your pm's on this - we'll implement the changes next week and report back here once its done.

the overall reg count has been remaining fairly steady recently, hopefully its time to see that number slowly begin to rise and break the 300k mark again....

    dottel.net06-13-2011 02:11 PM

only the last 5 days worth of drops are now searchable.

the current count of 'drops' working their way through the system is now just over 23k!

an archived list of drops service will be available shortly.

    dottel.net06-13-2011 05:30 PM

to clarify i mean all pending drops + last 5 days of dropped names are searchable.
drops older then 5 days are archived off - archive pages will be available soon.

sorry for the confusion - panic over

    dottel.net06-14-2011 11:14 AM

daily drops vs regs chart & blog post

you can now read our new blog post with a chart of recent drops vs daily regs:
    http://tel-domain.blogspot.com/2011/...rop-chart.html

    dottel.net06-15-2011 09:05 AM

good to see over 1k domains reg'd yesterday, thanks of course to the GA release of the 2 letter/numeric domains.

Details of yesterdays regs here: http://dottel.net/daily-dot-tel-registrations
Todays & upcoming drops here: http://buyatel.com

    dottel.net06-16-2011 09:24 AM

new numeric & 2 letter reg's helped the daily reg count beat the drops again today.
let's all hope this really is the start of an upwards trend on the daily reg count.

Details of yesterdays regs here: http://dottel.net/daily-dot-tel-registrations
Todays & upcoming drops here: http://buyatel.com

I'm still waiting for my 2 letter drop check job to complete - once its done will have an updated list of remaining 2 letter domains available for reg. An older list as of yesterday is available here:
    http://tel-domain.blogspot.com/

    dottel.net06-17-2011 10:15 AM

Archived drops are now available via the 'archive' link at the top of http://buyatel.com

    Direct link: http://buyatel.com/dropped-dottel-domains
As mentioned before, drops older then 5 days will be listed on this page.

If you're looking to sell a high quality .tel domain, benefit from the added exposure on both http://buyatel.com and the popularhttp://dottel.net/dot-tel-aftermarket site.
