I don't want to sell the domain, I've never used Sedo and I don't have an account on Sedo.
I'm wondering if Sedo is a reliable Company...
Sedo is the largest domain marketplace in the world, totally trustworthy in all my experience with them (as both seller and buyer) and is very quick at paying sellers following a successful domain sale. What you have to appreciate is that Sedo are not actually selling domains themselves, they are facilitating the sale of domain names by sellers who list them for sale on Sedo's marketplace.
When you open a (free) account with Sedo and "Add Domain" they check the Whois to ensure you are the owner before listing it for sale on their marketplace.
If that domain is subsequently dropped, or sold through other than the Sedo marketplace, they have no mechanism in place to be advised of that fact.
They have to rely on the Sedo account owner deleting that domain from their own Sedo account - but this doesn't always happen immediately or sometimes even at all !
So if someone has listed the domain "albenga.tel" for sale Sedo will have checked they were the owner at the date of listing the domain. If the owner subsequently let that domain drop, which I guess is what happened with "albenga.tel", then unless the owner who listed it in his/her Sedo account deleted the domain from their account it will still be there and listed on Sedo's marketplace.
If you were to open your own Sedo account, then attempt to "Add Domain", Sedo would stop you from doing so as it is already listed by another person on their marketplace.
So what you do (I have done this successfully whenever it was necessary) is use the Sedo support ticket system to say you now own the domain - I would include the link
http://www.easywhois.com/?domain=albenga.tel in the support ticket to make it quick and easy for them to check this whilst they read the ticket.
As I said, it's worked for me every time the situation you describe has arisen.
