Google +1 Has anyone figured out if Google +1 rating buttons can be placed on a .tel site? It's way over my head. http://www.google.com/intl/en/webmas...ton/index.html |
Add Google +1 to .tel Of course we cannot insert javascript into our .tel..... Let's imagine this: if the +1 can be works with a single link......... If there will be a link works, then we can just add an Image-Ad (top banner or else), and link to that link (with your .tel name). |
+1 my .tel Just double checked the official instruction again: http://www.google.com/intl/en/webmas...ton/index.html In the "Advanced options", we can use "URL to +1" to +1 our .tel url, instead of +1 the current page. [img] http://ww2.sinaimg.cn/large/6e07055djw1dj9wutcbdzj.jpg I've tried one, and it indeed shows in my +1's page. [img] http://ww4.sinaimg.cn/large/6e07055djw1dj9wo0pcjsj.jpg So maybe we can do it in this way:
although we cannot press the +1 rating button within our .tel, but we can click-to-open an window, and press the +1 rating button on that page. again, I'm not major in computer science, but I think it can be done by this way. Regards, |
the solution here is to have telnic introduce a configurable option to allow the addition of popular add to social media links on a tel domain. much like many blog services and other sites do. this way you can add an addthis, twitter, facebook, google plus, etc easily via config to your tel domain. |

Good idea - social media is so important these days for both personal and business sites. Hopefully this could be added to the Roadmap when it re-appears following its revision. Mike Seaton |
Cedric, thanks for your idea. I think it will work fine from what I know of javascript and other coding. I've decided not to pursue Google +1 until I can offer buttons for the other more popular social media services as well. Just doesn't have a high enough priority for my time right now. I agree with dottel.net and mikeseaton that this would be a very valuable addition to the .tel roadmap. Links to social media are very important right now. Thank you all! Dan |
Looks like .CO is getting more big name support ... really big. I'm not sure how old this is. http://www.itnewslink.com/article.php?id_article=13440 |
that's a few days old - was nicely timed to coincide with the renewal anniversary date |

Very nicely selected and timed, the big "G" is certainly a boost for renewal incentive. |
For the .co domains notice that the short one letter domains are the only ones that are getting this boost. It is the utility value of having only 3 letters in a domain that make these valuable. x.co -> GoDaddy.com o.co -> Overstock.com t.co -> Twitter.com Show me a two letter or greater domain that has a successful project on it? Or even a developed site? |

Actually, there are many, and they even have a directory of some selected for their "showcased" .co sites. http://www.opportunity.co/case-studies/directory.php www.cv1.tel was a recent .tel of the week showing CINCI.CO in use as well. |
just browsed through the .co case study domains and came across app.co anyone use the service to build out 'apps' based on our tel content? |

I just signed up and tried it but it seems limited to including just feeds from limited sites. I didn't see any way to include a link to a website like .tel. The five feeds that you can customize are RSS, Twitter, YouTube, Tumblr, and a blog. Not sure if the blog is hosted with them or not but there wasn't a place to add a URL. Didn't find any instructions and gave up after about 20 minutes. Think it's way too simplistic. |
