    Plus:

+ Technically, the control panel is operated easily and faultlessly.
+ The user interface is clean and easy to use.
+ Nobody is forced to use the new control panel, because web hosting will be available next month.
+ The Telnames template is perfect for people who only want to create a placeholder website or an electronical business card quickly.
+ As we know from Telnames, the template design is old-fashioned, but kind of beautiful.

    Minus:

    - The given usernames are badly chosen (with cryptic numbers).
    - The usernames can't be adjusted.
    - No two-factor authentication is available.
    - Multiple domains are randomly combined into different accounts.
    - No subdomains are possible to create.
    - A lot of important functions from the past have been omitted (private data, OAuth, search, multiple profiles, Google AdSense).
    - No long text can be inserted.
    - Telfriends and Telpages will disappear.
    - The backup / restore functionallity doesn't work with the data from the old control panel.
    - The design can't be checked with the inserted data at the moment, because the data won't be displayed before 13th March.
    - No innovation or new features since the template was introduced five years ago for the first time!!!
    - Currently, the performance of the old Telhosting control panel is very bad, probably because many users are trying to rescue their data.
    - Only a single template is available (instead of previously eight).
    - The Telnames template offers only a solution for webmaster beginners. It's useless for professional developers or increased demands.
    - The Telnames template has no great SEO possibilities.
    - Important development requirements are still not included (blog functionality, text formatting, contact forms).

    Have I overlooked something?

Mark at telmasters.com is working hard to sort out that matter, you can use subdomains or subfolders

I can't belief that it took 8 years after launch for Telnic to deliver a half finished website template and web hosting!

What can we expect from Telnic during the next 8 years?

This is a fantastic use case for .tel domains.

The question is if a big market for it exist.

Telnames has failed with this approach five years ago.

If I try to insert a location at the new control panel, I don't get the map displayed. It doesn't work.

When trying to login, it's important to use the correct link to the new control panel:

    https://www.managemy.tel (important: www)

The new login credentials don't work at https://managemy.tel .

Without long texts (and subdomains) Google will not promote TELs. So, Telnames TELs are useless from SEO point of view: nobody will find them via Google search.

I hope the usernames can be administered at the registrars after 13th March as it's possible to switch TelHolsting accounts there today.

From what I see, since yesterday .tel provides a nice looking (Telnames) template with very limited features and took away the possibility to create bigger websites with the provided control panel by default.

Now, registrants have two possibilities: using a limited solution or using .tel just like any other common domain on the internet.

My conclusion is that all internet professional will switch to web hosting for .tel.

If you ever change your .TEL domain's DNS to use another DNS Server, and want to go back to using the Telnames style Telhosting, you will need to change your Nameservers for your .TEL domain back to use Telnic's DNS Servers:

    a0.cth.dns.nic.tel
    d0.cth.dns.nic.tel
    n0.cth.dns.nic.tel
    s0.cth.dns.nic.tel
    t0.cth.dns.nic.tel

Then you can use the Control Panel at: https://www.managemy.tel to make changes to your web page.

Thanks Mike! Keep up the good work of promoting .TEL domains! I know it has been a bumpy ride over the past few years.

Beware also, when you will change color of "Icons" in "Design" section, after that it seems it will be impossible to return the default color of icons - with light upper part dark shadows at the bottom. The new icons all will be "flat".

@maxi - useful tip - I intend to leave the icons on my .TELs in their default state as IMO they look better.

If anyone is in contact with Telnic's technical boss Huw Stead perhaps they could suggest he joins this forum so Telnic can get involved with customer feedback ?
