Allowedly it's difficult for a new technology to reach ordinary people on the street.
All revolutionizer like Apple, Facebook, Google and Microsoft (in the 80s) started small and it took their products years, sometimes even decades to take off.
The same is happening with .tel domains. Like the internet in early years, nobody knows about it.
Inspired by the overwhelming success of the internet later some domain investors started to hijack all quality .tel domain names when this product was launched in 2009.
Since the market penetration has stayed low until today, it still isn't easy to monetize these internet properties. In the meantime those domain investors had not many ideas what to do with them; so they just have placed tons of commercials on their .tel domains. The result is disillusioning, e. g.: fx.tel, barnet.tel, trinidad.tel (just 3 out of countless examples).
When I visit these domains by accident, I only have one urgent desire: closing my browser tab immediately!
Certainly this situation is not good for the image of a product in early stage like .tel!
Let's hope more end users will discover the advantages of .tel, so these ugly pictures will disappear after some time.
