1. Because all these names are too complicated to be remembered and I think that driving-courses users will not remember them by their minds.
2. It would be not a problem, if driving-courses users would be able to find them via Google search. But as TELs from Telnames have no subdomains, that means that it is impossible to "promote" all these TELs to the first pages of Google by filling subdomains with respective unique content.
So, they are useless for business, and the right decision of their owners will be to drop them next year (or to move them to registrars which allow subdomains).
I completely disagree.
http://driving-success.tel, http://iwanttodrive.tel, http://lovedriving.tel and many more are very easy to remember.
And registering the company name like
http://drivesmith.tel is another good branding strategy.
In addition customers don't need to remember the domain name. More importantly customers will find the domain easily (via Yellow Pages or a well-known search engine).
As soon the product from Telnames will be popular, of course we will see an appropriate search for them. If Telnic doesn't provide it, then somebody else will create a new directory.
Another reason why I doubt those domains will be dropped is that the driving school certainly will like the cheap mobile and desktop website easy to manage and for low price.
Different than domain speculators these end users will see the value more in their presence on the internet than in the increasing value of keyword domains.
Besides it will be difficult to find a better domain name, because quality keywords like drivingschool.tel are all taken.
