Hello From Ireland Empty Hello From Ireland

Post by tonymayo 2012-09-29, 10:43 am

Some of you will know me already from the Telnic Forum.

I'm a .tel domain investor and developer.

To date, I have developed .tel directories for most of the large cities and towns in the Republic of Ireland. I plan to do the same for Northern Ireland.

Quick links to directories Tel Ireland Directories

I have a .com/.ie website to promote the tel directories - TEL Ireland

I am enjoying some success to date with regular submissions for free listings.

I also have a number of interesting keyword domains that I continue to develop. SatelliteTV.tel is very successful in terms of visits and Adsense.

My hyper local directories are proving the most successful - for two reasons I am able to promote these by way of extensive and credible backlinks (photographers, art centres, local businesses) through my local websites MayoToday.ie and my blog. Also most of these directories are now 3 years old which does count with Google.

However, I have learned a lot over these past few years and believe some of my directory structures (like satellitetv.tel) need more work.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Mark at Telmasters.com Telmasters Tools for all his support and I strongly recommend any serious tel directory developers to look at TelVision.co for easy and quick management of your domains.

I look forward to this forum becoming a tel domain ideas and resources exchange for all of us who are staying the course with .tel and still believing in its ultimate successs.

Hi Tonymayo, the content on your tels is very valuable. You only need some discovery by increasing awareness for tel in general.
Another improvement could be done in terms of design, but that would be up to Telnic. But what I find the most impressive part is your site telireland.ie! Great stuff!
Should work fine when tel becomes popular!

    Appreciate your positive comments, Phillipe.

One intereseting point I have found is that Google gives much more weight to .com site than its .tel related directory even though the .com site is nothing more than a showcase for the .tel.

This occurs even when the .tel site is well populated and has been published much longer than its showcase page on the .ie/com site.

For instance, a search for any one of my directories - Bray Directory - is more likely to give a higher ranking to the telireland.ie showcase page rather than the well developed directory itself.

That is why we need an outstanding search directory which is specialized in TEL. Telpages can’t provide this yet.

There is a search engine (though it's not a directory) already that specialises in .tel
    - http://www.net-link.com/tel

Don't forget after doing a search you can just click on any of the Web/Video/Facebook/Google+/MySpace/Twitter links above the search box to repeat for these sites without rekeying.

Here's a couple of sample searches
    - http://www.net-link.com/tel/search.asp?q=london+taxi
    - http://www.net-link.com/tel/search.asp?q=new+york+hotels

    Mike

A very good search resource with lots of helpful features for tel directory builders - and one I intend to use from now on.

Thanks Tony for your kind words re http://www.net-link.com/tel

As mentioned http://www.net-link.com/tel/search.asp?q=%22powered+by+telnames.com%22 will give you all Telnames domains.

So if you want to search for taxis but in Telnames domains only you would use http://www.net-link.com/tel/search.asp?q=%22powered+by+telnames.com%22+taxis

This search could be useful for example if you were considering developing a Telnames taxi site but wanted to check out the competition first.
